The Queue: Mogu high five

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mathew McCurley (@gomatgo) will be your host today.

If the Mogu on the Mists of Pandaria login screen don't high-five at the 20-minute mark, I will be severely disappointed.

Pyro asked:

Is there any time frame when Battle Tags will be open to all games on battle net? I really want to get into cross-realm raiding, but refuse to do RealID.

While there is no official time frame on when BattleTags will get rolled out to other games and services, I hope that it happens sooner rather than later. The promise of having people find me via BattleTag is much, much better for me than giving out my email. It sits better with me, doesn't reek of privacy issues, and lets me have more friends and more options within my games as to what content is accessible to me.

I'd like to hope that BattleTag integration happens before Mists of Pandaria launches and anticipate that it will be a part of the pre-patch patch that usually happens before the real patch hits retail -- you know, 4.3.455(RELEASE)(TEST)(NYI), etc. Maybe some systems changes, as well.

@Medros on Twitter asked:

how excited are you for the idea of possible cloud serpent races?

Two years ago, I would have hated the prospect of any more races in WoW after my stupid struggles winning the Netherdrake races. Now, with the updates to the racing mechanics and just a better overall understanding of the way those types of things work in-game, I think cloud serpent races could be awesome. However, I don't think we'll be able to race our friends -- most likely, just other NPCs. Sad, but there are always laps around Dalaran, Orgrimmar or Stormwind for that.

@Shard1636 on Twitter asked:

when do you think blizz will announce MoP release date?

I have a sneaking suspicion that within the next few weeks, we will get a Mists of Pandaria cinematic reveal and a launch date window -- maybe not an actual date, per se, but a month. Maybe a date. Who knows? However, I think we'll know some more information in a few weeks' time, and it will come with a cinematic.

Natasha asked:

When did Warlocks become the least played class? Was it a certain patch/nerf or something that kicked it into downfall?

Haven't warlocks always been one of the least played classes in WoW? I seem to remember warlocks, rogues, and priests being the traditionally least-played classes. Honestly, I have no idea why warlocks are underrepresented on Azeroth. Maybe it's the combination of pet mechanics and the perception that there are too many buttons to press. Soul shards were probably a factor as well, with warlock players essentially having to give up an entire bag slot for the damned things. That type of class resource management mixed with inventory management was a pain in the butt for every warlock, period.

DavidMcRae asked:

im hearing a lot of complaints from people about lack of content... But most of these people haven't finished BWD or FL... Maybe Blizzard should reintroduce quest chains and attunement to enter raids! It would make previous content viable for longer! Discuss!

The problem with the "lack of content" complaints was not that they were related to raiding, but very specifically that the complaints were not related to raiding. There was plenty of raiding in this expansion, even at six to eight bosses per tier, as opposed to the "giant Haus of Bosses" that we were subjected to for seven years.

Instead, it was the non-raiders who complained about lack of content, and they were right. Cataclysm's heroic dungeon content was originally too difficult and punishing, Tol Barad was a broken mess, the reputation grinds took a long time to start and grind (especially with Therazane), and, subsequently, the earliest raid content was out of reach for most players. Non-raiders don't want to raid in a dedicated fashion, which is why the Raid Finder has been so successful.

I don't agree that hardcore raiders don't have enough content. In fact, I think the amount of hardcore content out there is at a good place. You've got heroic modes for every encounter in 10- and 25-man modes, as well as mount rewards for meta achievements and all that jazz.

metalupis asked:

So, what are the odds that I'll actually manage to get the tol'vir mount or the other binding of the windseeker before MoP

About as good as my chances, which are low. Let's suffer together. I did get the Tol'vir mount, though.

@NoHopeForSome on Twitter asked:

WHY DON'T YOU LOVE US ANYMORE? DON'T LEAVE!!! WE CAN CHANGE!!!!!

It's not you, it's me.
