The Queue A day in the life of patch 51

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today.

We've completed day one of patch 5.1. How are you liking it?

arixian697 asked:

Non patch related question: Is there something I'm missing with the Nat Pagle rep grind? I'm either exhaulted or almost exhaulted with every person/faction in Mist and I fish daily but I have yet to catch a single fish I can turn in for rep with him. Am I just a victim of the RNG or not fishing the right spots?

Probably a little of this, a little of that. You can only catch the fish in certain locations, but you've almost certainly been fishing somewhere that you can catch at least one of them, so luck plays a role. The Flying Tiger Gourami is caught in inland open water in Pandaria, except in waters near lands corrupted by the sha. The Spinefish Alpha is caught in inland open water near land that has been corrupted by the sha. The Mimic Octopus is caught anywhere off of Pandaria's coastline. You can turn in one of each per day.

I tend to get my Mimic Octopus off the coast of Krasarang, then fly up to Kun'Lai's inland lakes for the other two. Any zones will work, though.

fatherdmo asked:

wheres the trailer for 5.1?

Lead Designer Dave Kosak stated on Twitter yesterday that trailers are being reserved for major content patches, not the smaller ones like patch 5.1. That probably translates to content patches that introduce new dungeons and/or raids rather than daily quest hubs.

Geekboydotca asked:

Anyone else seen this odd new bug where your crops phase away if you change specs while you are on your farm? Or IS it new? Have I just not noticed this before?

Yeah, this has happened to me, too. It's been around since the expansion launched. Reader KuRo has a theory as to why this happens:

It's happened since the start of the expac -- fly/run in and out of the phases parcel to reset. Speculation is that you get an invisible buff that allows you to see your farm phase and buffs gets wiped out when you swap specs.

marc asked:

So, now that the cooldown on Blind has been cut in half in patch 5.1, does that mean that WoW Moviewatch can feature it twice as often?

The cooldown on the machinima version of Blind is actually a stacking debuff. Once all of the stacks are gone, it can be used again. Every time someone emails us a tip about an "awesome new machinima" they've never seen before, it shaves off one stack of the debuff. You are free to speculate on how many stacks it starts with.

fbxxkl asked:

Any chance on getting more Monk love. I mean there are some pretty significantly awesome changes coming in 5.1 and all I have really seen is "101" posts. When other classes are getting raiding and other informative posts. Just curious.

It's completely dependent on the availability of our various columnists. Most of our class columnists do not use WoW Insider as their primary employer, so sometimes people get swamped. Such is the way of things. There'll be more monk content coming.

JeffLaBowski asked:

If you could combine two classes Which two would you pick? I would go with the mage/rogue combo. The thought of an arcane assassin is pretty cool.

Paladin and rogue, resulting in an assassin crusader. Warding off evil by shanking it in the neck. I'd play it.
