Ninja Gaiden 3 DLC increases difficulty and claw count

Ninja Gaiden 3 is being bolstered with DLC today, including new weapons for both single- and multiplayer. The "Falcon's Talons" weapon from Ninja Gaiden 2 returns for use in the campaign, bundled with an increased level cap and new stage for multiplayer. This is a free download distributed as an automatic update.

Also free when it arrives on April 24: the "Ultimate Ninja" difficulty setting, which makes the game even harder to get through ... although it's kind of hard to get through now for other reasons.

If you absolutely must pay for DLC, you'll be happy to hear that new Ninja Trials packs for each difficulty, unspecified "customization items" and Metal Claws for multiplayer will all be sold separately and as part of a $10 "Ninja Pack 1."

In addition, the Ninja Trials packs, additional equipment items and a new multiplayer stage are available for download. Further, an all new Ultimate Ninja difficulty will soon become available on April 24th and will remain free for a month. To showcase the new downloadable content, Team NINJA created a video vignette and all new screenshots and stills.

Players will be able to purchase downloadable content individually-Metal Claws for the multiplayer modes, Ninja Trials packs for Acolyte, Mentor, Leader, Master difficulties and additional customization items-or players can purchase the complete set of DLC in Ninja Pack 1 for $9.99 or 800 MSP.

Players are now also able to download the Falcon's Talons, an additional weapon for Ryu Hayabusa to use in the story mode, as well as a new stage for the online multiplayer mode Clan Battle and a higher level cap. All these are available as a free download and can be obtained as an automatic software update for the PlayStation® 3 and as a downloadable Ninja Pack 1 Lite for the Xbox 360®.

Falcon's Talons are weapons developed in the Hayabusa Village and utilized during the events of Ninja Gaiden 2 by Ryu Hayabusa. This lethal weapon consists of customized gauntlets with massive steel claws worn on the hands and feet. The design of the claws embodies the immense power of birds of prey. Players can use these for quick combos with multiple hits and kicks.

The Ultimate Ninja difficulty which aims to challenge even the most advanced ninjas will be free to download for a month starting April 24th for the single player campaign.
