It came from the Blog We met, we greeted, we scavenger hunted

Last month's It came from the Blog event was our second scavenger hunt, with a meet and greet right before. We met in the Court of the Sun in Silvermoon City, enjoying the peace and quiet of an empty city. (A round of less lag for everyone!) Several WoW Insider writers showed up for the meet and greet:

(Yes, I'm always there, but I answered a couple of questions too.)

Our new and veteran guildies put the WI crew through their paces. Matt answered healing questions. Anne tackled lore and roleplay questions. Elizabeth made it clear that Around Azeroth needs more screenshot submissions. And there was much rejoicing.

After the meet and greet, I listed 20 scavenger hunt items in /say. All items were obtainable in Silvermoon City and all of the surrounding places in Eversong Woods. Because it was an all-levels event, any items that needed to drop off mobs were limited to level 1 creatures on Sunstrider Isle. Gold was provided to anyone who didn't have the means to purchase everything.

As I had warned, those with mounts had an advantage. But flight doesn't work in the blood elf starter territories, as you know, so it wasn't as much of an issue as it was in the last scavenger hunt, which took place in Tirisfal Glades.

After about half an hour, Krexx brought his scavenged items to me for verification and won more than 9,000 gold (10,000, to be exact). The remaining winners got their choice of a variety of pets. All prizes were donated by The Insiders, our sister guild. (Thank you, as usual, Croxy!)

It came from the Blog holds events every month. Our next one will happen during the Midsummer Fire Festival, catering to the pyromaniac in all of us. Stay tuned for the announcement!
