The Queue: Expanding the account-wide items

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky (@adamholisky) will be your host today.

Here's a small list of other things that should be made account-wide in MoP:

  • Rare cooking recipies

  • Legendaries

  • The One Ring

  • Engineering

  • Argent Tournament progress

Jeff asked:

What MOP feature do you think will wind up being axed before release?

None. There's no indication that anything is going to be axed in MoP. We've got some things unimplemented still, but that's normal for Blizzard. There's a lot of internal testing being done by them, and considering how much WoW news is consumed immediately by such a large community, Blizzard's gotten very good at not releasing anything until there's a lot of polish on it. Farming? There's indication it's being worked on in the datamines, but the actual mechanics are not there yet. I'd lay my money on it being in, though.

A lot of the QQ over Blizzard scrapping things comes from people remembering things like flying combat or the dance studio, stuff that was even on the box that didn't make it in. Blizzard won't ever make those mistakes again (one would hope).

Pascaljr asked:

Mounts will be account-wide. That's awesome. But what about our companions? Will they be account-wide to?

This is quickly becoming another standard question here, but I suspect that it's because the message needs to be transmitted a bit more clearly. Anyway, the answer is yes, non-combat pets will be shared across your entire account.

Pinerw asked:

I've got a F2P account that I used for twinking back when you could cap yourself at 19. When pets and mounts go account-wide, will that mean my F2P toon can roam the battlegrounds on a sweet hog just like his level 85 big brother. More interestingly, will F2P toons on Battle.net accounts with at least one paid subscription be able to access pet battles?

As far as non-paid accounts accessing pet battles, no, I wouldn't assume they would be able to, given that you'll likely need a MoP-level account for pet battles.

As far as mounts are concerned, you can't get access to mounts on your F2P account, so that's a non-starter. Vroom, vroom.

AlternativeChat asked:

has anyone found any treasure chests in Pandaria yet?

I haven't! But I'm sure this will be something that gets added in last minute. Actually, I want to amend my answer above. If anything won't make it in and will be added in a later patch, this will be.

But even then, I doubt this won't make it in. And I might have just not run into any, either. They could be there, hiding, like the elusive little things they are.
