The Queue World of Wolfshirt

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mike Sacco will be your host today.

That's my codename for Gen Con, where I'm working this weekend.

Bomyne asked:

If I have the basic (and tbc) account, I can roll as any race, but Death Knight and monk are still restricted until I buy wrath and mists?

That's correct, at least for now.

michael.s1059 asked:

Wait, if the panda in the cinematic is Chen, and thus he's alive in game, then this begs the question...just how old IS this guy? And how long do the Pandaren live for that matter? Are they like the draenei or elves - not immortal but just stupidly long lives?

It's been, like, less than 10 years since WC3. Dude can't be that old.

paperdreams11 asked:

My caster alts have been rocking heirloom staves, but what will happen when wands become the main hand? Will I need all new heirlooms?

No, your casters can still use staves. Wands becoming main-hand weapons doesn't mean wands are now the only main-hand caster weapons.

dearth asked:

I remember reading somewhere that elves descended from trolls. What caused the nascent Night Elves to diverge evolutionarily from the trolls? It couldn't have been the Well of Eternity... was it Elune?

It was the Well of Eternity.

BlazeNor asked:

Should the portal to the Outland be shut down for good or Outland brought up to current events?

Doesn't have to be one or the other. I think all of the people currently stationed in Outland would be kind of mad if we just closed the portal and left them here. As much as I'd love another outer space summer vacation, I'd only want it if it meant something really new.

JoeSmith asked:

Do you think it's possible that Thrall was corrupted by during the course of the 4.2 questline? He seemed to be incredibly inept during the DS raid, such as only clipping DW with the dragon soul, and during the last fight only attacking at the very end of the fight when we basically forced him to. Do you think it's possible it was intentional? Removing the old corrupted Earth Warden, only to place a new corrupted one in his spot would be an awesome way for the lore to turn, especially with the emotional turmoil of the family aspect that's been added in in patch 4.2.

There is no possible way that Blizzard, by way of Chris Metzen, would ever let Thrall be corrupted. Period.
