If there's enough interest, we'll run a pet battle column, but we'll see. Not sure if the pet battle strategy level is deep enough to require a column, but maybe Blizzard will prove me wrong!

I've seen the blue text of what was supposed to be the benefit of them, but since it's been implemented I haven't heard a single good thing that has come of it.

Populated zones while leveling. That's the main thing. Bugs are bugs; this is a good feature.

Now I know with the new account-wide mount features there are limits like on PvP, faction, and class restrictions on mounts. But what about sharing mounts between characters of the same class? I've got a Human Paladin. If I were to make a Draenei Paladin and level him to 20 and then 40, would I then be able to use the Paladin Elekks on my Human Paladin? Has anyone tested this out to see?

The Exarch's Charger has a draenei-only tag on it. Your human wouldn't be able to use it.

Doesn't look that way, no. If they were going to they probably would have done it with 5.0.4.

When I purchased my digital collectors edition it was said that the expansion would download before the 25th so it was all set to go. How can I verify that I have actually downloaded Mists? I am, of course, on 5.0.4 but does that also mean I'm good to go on the 25th? I haven't seen anything else download except for the current patch.

If you downloaded 5.0.4, you already downloaded Mists. There may be a minor patch on the 25th at launch time, but barring that, you're good to go.

Nope, the name should be available more or less instantaneously.

What's with reserved pet names? I just tried to rename my chicken to Corporal Cluck and got an error that the name was reserved. I then tried Captain Cluck and got the same ;-(

Military titles are unavailable for all names, even player ones. Lots of other titles too.
