The Queue: Settle down, Beavis

The Queue

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mike Sacco will be your host today.

Finally got around to beating the Sha of Anger for the first time tonight, as the sixth tank in the raid, serving I know not what purpose, but hey! Pair of boots and some gooey gold!

2eyedchuck1 asked:

Caster gear with neither hit nor spirit = fair game for both DPS and healers, right?

Sounds about right. I assume you mean a piece with, for example, crit and mastery on it. Obviously some specs will benefit from non-spirit non-hit pieces more than others, but yes. You're in the clear on that one.

Nefiasm asked:

I swear I heard Kosak say the 7 sha thing was scrapped and it was part of an earlier draft that they aren't doing.... or maybe something got confused...

If that's true, and this is the very first I've heard of it, then someone left that storyline open-ended for no reason. Check out the Tranquil Master achievement, which asks you to kill the six known sha manifestations.

smakfull asked:

Did you know that Crocolisks have six legs?

Yes.

Aubrey_E asked:

Regarding the Klaxxi, am I the only person who has made a connection with Zorak from Space Ghost Coast to Coast / The Brak Show and the Klaxxi? It seems like they based the entire race off of him. Which I find hilarious and awesome at the same time.

They're both giant mantids thats despise humanity but will work with them if it suits their goals. Am I making a huge leap for this connection?

I did search for some sort of Zor'ak NPC but didn't find anything.

Yesterday's Queue header was a picture of a mantid named Ka'roz, so...

Revynn asked:

Alright, this has been bugging me for way too long and it seems to be getting worse, so I need to stop ignoring it and get it fixed. I think I have a memory leak somewhere. Every time I go into a major city or a high population area (Golden Lotus dailys), I can only stick around for a few minutes before my client crashes. It's fine going into the area but soon my frame rate tanks, it freezes up and I get the familiar "Clang" sound followed by the dialog box asking me if I'd like to send an error report. How long it takes can vary depending on how long I've been out questing before going into that high pop area or how many people are around. I know it's my WoW client because I dont have the same problem in GWS or SWTOR (or anything else). I'm fairly sure it's an addon, but I don't know which one and I have over a hundred running. Without going through and enabling/disabling them one by one to single out the problem since the symptom is my client crashing and the process would take hours, is there a way to decipher the error report that WoW generates to determine where the problem lies? I've looked through it before but it all looks like a bunch of gibberish to someone who isn't intimately familiar with computer programming.

Dude, a hundred addons? There's no guarantee that's the problem but, good lord! Get rid of some addons! Disable them in groups of ten or twenty so you can see if there's a major one that's causing a problem, then narrow it down from there.

You can also post the error report to the official Tech Support forums and see if one of the blues or another poster can decipher it. Barring that there's always a fresh install, which tends to cure what ails sick clients.

RikOsborne asked:

Is it a significant comment about Cataclysm that I continue to see more people running around displaying WotLK raid titles and raid mounts than I see people displaying Cata titles and mounts? Or am I just seeing a glut of people who waited until level 85 to go back and raid Ulduar and ICC?

Both expansions had a lot of cool titles. A lot of people may be wearing titles they just recently went back and got thanks to cross-realm raiding, or they may just have a preference for a certain title that has nothing to do with their preference for expansion.
