WRUP: Humble Bundle edition

I also got four games I didn't care about essentially for free. So that was cool.

The Humble Bundle is really cool, but I've never bought it before this year. Somehow, getting a pile of indie games for a smaller payment felt like I was directly ripping someone off. When I saw that THQ did the bundle routine this year, though, I jumped on it. I figured that if I paid the price for the one game I wanted but didn't have when there's one extra game in there I'm curious about, that's fair, right?

Except then they added another game that I had wanted. And it turns out that the two games I did want are both excellent. So now I feel like I legally robbed someone. My ethics are strange.

Fortunately for you, if you missed out on the bundle, you won't have any ethical quandries to sort out. You can just revel in the fact that it's time for another installment of WRUP, with all of our Massively weekend plans just past the break. And you can let us know what you'll be up to for the weekend in the comments!

Beau Hindman, F2P and Mobile Columnist

@Beau_Hindman: I'm switching to Goodgame Empire for my next Rise and Shiny, but I will definitely be jumping into RuneScape to continue my adventures with the new combat upgrade. I've been poking around in The Secret World as well, and I enjoy the quests that seem to have no answer. The only problem is that MMOs are often bugged, so it's sometimes hard to know if I am witnessing a buggy quest or if I am just missing something. The graphics bug me as well (can we say uncanny valley?), but it's a tight game overall.

@nbrianna: If I get game time, I'll be spending it in Guild Wars 2, most likely. For once in a Guild Wars game, the winter holidays are starting early enough that I won't miss them. I'm also eyeing a return to Asheron's Call for the Asheron's Call 2 resurrection deal. Maybe not this weekend, but soon!

@PsykopigAU: I have fallen in love with Star Wars: The Old Republic once more and will be trying to get all my characters back up to scratch after all the patches and games changes. It's an exciting time!

Eliot Lefebvre, Columnist Extraordinaire and Senior Contributing Editor

@Eliot_Lefebvre: I'll be purchasing and blowing through DLC for Saint's Row The Third after unexpectedly falling in love with it. Other than that, I'll be dipping back into Guild Wars 2 and Star Wars: The Old Republic after a slight absence and heroing about in Champions Online. Nothing all that exciting.

Elisabeth Cardy, Guild Wars 2 Columnist and Contributing Editor

@elixabethclaire: Oh, what a busy gaming weekend I hope this will be! Guild Wars 2's Wintersday celebration began on Friday, I mean to play some more Aion, my Engineer needs leveling in Torchlight 2, andThe Secret World has suddenly become intensely interesting again. I'd been meaning to revisit it in January anyway, but I'm happy to jump back in sooner.

Justin Olivetti, Columnist Extraordinaire and Senior Contributing Editor

@Sypster: Asheron's Call 2. I don't think I can type that and not feel a giddy headrush of unbelievable weirdness. But here I am, and here I will play. Looking forward to getting to know this MMO I never played back in the day! Other than that, I'm in a beta-which-must-not-be-named (Voldemort Online), and really need to get cooking on all the Christmas events in RIFT and Guild Wars 2. Plus (plus!) The Secret World beckons me with its post-subscription excitement. I'm a busy, busy gamer.

Mike Foster, Contributing Editor

@MikedotFoster: The sis and I are doing some World of Warcraft dungeons, and I'll probably spend the rest of my gaming time investigating new MMOs to stream. This weekend is hectic for me; I will be surprised if I get more than two or three actual gaming hours in before everything explodes in my face.

Richie Procopio, Multimedia Contributor

@RichieProcopio: Wintersday is upon us, and that means I will be spending all of my free time in Guild Wars 2 this weekend. I will be pegging other players with snowballs, following around a creepy airship toy workshop, and engaging in the most wicked icy jumping puzzle ever to hit Tyria. I can't wait!

Shawn Schuster, Senior Editor

@Epykbeard: Star Wars: The Old Republic has been chosen for me by the readers in last week's Choose My Adventure column, so I'll be playing that as much as I can the next six weeks or so. I'm looking forward to taking a bit of a break from Guild Wars 2 anyway, so this should be nice. I created my male Chiss Imperial Agent and can't wait for him to spread his dark, flirtatious wings. First stop: Hutta!

At the start of every weekend, we catch up with the Massively staff members and ask them, "What are you playing this week?" (Otherwise known as: WRUP!) Join us to see what we're up to in and out of game -- and catch us in the comments to let us know what you're playing, too!
