Unnamed Xbox One launch title gets audio 'lobotomy'

Microsoft Studios audio director Paul Lipson revealed that an unnamed Xbox One launch game required an emergency sound design overhaul after it failed to meet Microsoft's standards.

Lipson disclosed few details regarding the affected game during this week's Game Music Connect event in London, describing the audio replacement process as a "full lobotomy." Lipson notes that Microsoft employs a dedicated team of composers and sound designers to ensure that first- and third-party developers meet newly established audio quality standards for the upcoming console.

Lipson did not reveal which game in particular required the audio transplant. A number of platform-exclusive releases will premiere alongside the Xbox One on November 22, including Dead Rising 3, Killer Instinct, and Ryse: Son of Rome.
