WRUP: Happy non-panicked-shopping weekend edition

In two weeks this place will look worse than the Thunderdome.

It's time for the most important holiday weekend of the year: that comfortable point when you can drive out and take part in a frenzied circus of consumerism while everyone is still treating one another like human beings. No one will attack you with a screwdriver in the middle of Target for trying to take home the last Tickle Me Optimus Prime or whatever kids want this year. It's great.

Think fondly on this later when you search for the last gift you must buy in a shredded wasteland, with songs praising sharing and togetherness amidst a mass of screaming people fighting over commodities.

Anyway, it's WRUP time, so that means you want to hear about what we'll be doing for the weekend (which may or may not include shopping). Check out our plans past the break, and let us know what you'll be up to down in the comments!

Anatoli Ingram, Guild Wars 2 Columnist

@ceruleangrey: I have another Guild Wars 2 alt. Somebody needs to stage an intervention because I have a problem. When the novelty wears off, I'll probably drop into Final Fantasy XIV and The Secret World to play with more alts. And then I'll sob quietly into my bowl of pomegranate seeds.

Beau Hindman, F2P and Mobile Columnist

@Beau_Hindman: I'm staying warm inside while toasting some mobs in a few different titles. I really want to get some time in DC Universe Online and Defiance, but I also need to move on to my next Rise and Shiny game, Eldevin. I'm also due for a look at Aura Kingdom and iRacing, so who knows if I will actually sleep. At some point I need to eat, I think.

Bree Royce, Editor-in-Chief

@nbrianna: I'm still puttering around in World of Warcraft, where I've finished off my Shaman and am back to working my old prot Warrior up to 90. Though I have to say, I'm pretty damn sick of farming. And I mean farming vegetables, not farming loot. Actually, no -- both. There's a reason we call it farming.

Eliot Lefebvre, Columnist Extraordinaire and Senior Contributing Editor

@Eliot_Lefebvre: Aside from a thing I can't discuss, I've finally maxed out both Botanist and Carpenter in Final Fantasy XIV and have new projects to work on before the first major patch. And there's some World of Warcraft playing to be done as well; my Shaman is almost at 90.

Jasmine Hruschak, Multimedia Contributor

@irljasmine: After two weeks away from my desktop, it's time to dive headlong back into Final Fantasy XIV. I have a White Mage to level, scholar gear to get, and raids to catch up on. It'll be a busy weekend of settling back into the gaming swing.

Justin Olivetti, Columnist Extraordinaire and Senior Contributing Editor

@Sypster: Two big drops this week, Starbound's beta and Neverwinter's module 2, will probably be the main focus of my weekend. That and avoiding the ever-enlarging manhunt net that the feds are conducting. Seriously, I didn't do it! They told me not to play God with science and I totally listened and totally did not build those crocobirds that have started to devour the East Coast. Trust me.

Mike Foster, Contributing Editor

@MikedotFoster: All I want to do is Dota 2. But I'll probably check back in with Guild Wars 2 since I paid money for it and gave it only a couple of weeks.

Richie Procopio, Multimedia Contributor

@RichieProcopio: This weekend I will be sling cards in Hearthstone and conquering fractals in Guild Wars 2. I've also started playing The Witcher 2 again because I never got very far and I'd like to experience it before The Witcher 3 comes out. On top of that, my sons and I have been playing a Minecraft LAN game together, which is challenging and fun. Keeping kids out of the lava is like herding cats!

At the start of every weekend, we catch up with the Massively staff members and ask them, "What are you playing this week?" (Otherwise known as: WRUP!) Join us to see what we're up to in and out of game -- and catch us in the comments to let us know what you're playing, too!
