Is it rude to wipe out a whole pack of rare spawn pets to get a rare quality or "all is fair" in pet collecting?

I would personally consider it pretty rude, yeah. If something is truly hard to find, like a minfernal, and you just kill it off without catching it... crappy move. For pets that are that hard to get, I catch whatever I can find first, no matter its quality, and use a battle stone on it to bring it up to rare quality.

If it's only moderately rare, such as Tiny Twisters in Arathi Highlands, I figure you can do whatever you want with those. Finding a Tiny Twister is a matter of an hour or two, where a Minfernal can take weeks.

Patience! We received a ton of applications and it took us some time to go through them all. We've made our short list, and now we're going through the process of logistics -- contacting who we've chosen, making sure they're still up for the job, and then getting them contracted. You'll see them soon, but not soon-soon.

All wild pets can be rare-quality. There were a few bugged at the launch of Mists of Pandaria that only went as high as uncommon, but I believe those have all been fixed.

It's clever, yeah, but you're also intentionally gutting your performance and bringing down the rest of the raid in the process. Making everybody else's job harder isn't cool.
