WRUP: Not another post about Sagrada Familia edition

Yeah, let's not talk about it, it's not like it matters.

Contrary to what you might think, this post really isn't about Sagrada Familia. It's more about the fact that I decided to foolishly purchase a Nanoblocks set attempting to replicate the sight of this massive structure. This was revealed to be an intensely poor decision after about five seconds, for reasons including but not limited to a lack of stability, a poor choice of colors, and decisions about assembly that require a level of manual dexterity that even I don't naturally possess.

After several hours of work, the completed project sits on my desk, a reminder that the next time I'm curious about this sort of thing I should just try assembling some LEGO blocks with a set of tweezers.

But the mistakes of the week can be overridden by the glories of the weekend, and this week's WRUP is just past the cut. Check out our weekend plans and let us know what you'll be up to over the next two days in the comments.

Beau Hindman, F2P and Mobile Columnist

@Beau_Hindman: Next week I am switching to Dawn of the Dragons for Rise and Shiny. I have been finding more and more wonderful gaming in the browser market; every time I think I have drunk all the water from the well, more killer games show up. I especially love the MMORTS market because it allows me to play several times over the day, but the play is still deep and sometimes intense. In fact, as I write this I am expecting an attack and have hopefully prepared for it. Wish me luck!

Bree Royce, Editor-in-Chief

@nbrianna: I expect to be in World of Warcraft again this weekend, probably on my Shaman and my Hunter, very slowly making my way through Pandaland (official term). It's weird, but you know that feeling you get when you play a game and you keep thinking about how some other game does this one little bit perfectly? And then you want to play that game? I've been getting that when I play World of Warcraft -- for Guild Wars 2. So maybe I'll play some alts over there too.

Eliot Lefebvre, Columnist Extraordinaire and Senior Contributing Editor

@Eliot_Lefebvre: I really miss being able to say that I'll be in Final Fantasy XIV, but the beta isn't starting for a couple more weeks. I do still have Star Wars: The Old Republic to play, and I've got a large collection of games on Steam still (such as Strike Suit Zero, which I backed on Kickstarter), so it's not as if I don't have plenty to do. Plus I just bought The Secret World while it was on sale cheaply, so I should actually try playing it.

Elisabeth Cardy, Guild Wars 2 Columnist and Contributing Editor

@elixabethclaire: I really want to get my Warrior to 80 in Guild Wars 2, so that'll be getting a bit of my time (not too much, I hope, as she's already 77). I'd also like to bump my Sorcerer up a bit in Aion so that I'm a little less pathetic the next time MJ and I stream together!

Jasmine Hruschak, Multimedia Contributor

@irljasmine: I'm on the road this weekend and this means I'm at the mercy of fickle, overpriced hotel wifi. I'll be getting my gaming fix through Harvest Moon: A New Beginning on my 3DS and whatever mobile games I can squeeze onto my phone. Tonight I downloaded Final Fantasy Airborne Brigade and said goodbye to my phone's battery life.

Jef Reahard, Managing Editor and Columnist Extraordinaire

@jefreahard: I've gotten (re)addicted to The Sims 3. Thanks, Steam sales! And I'll probably manage a little EverQuest II before the weekend is up.

Justin Olivetti, Columnist Extraordinaire and Senior Contributing Editor

@Sypster: I'm part of a multi-game guild (shout out to Mercy Corps!) that recently migrated to Lord of the Rings Online for the first time. And wouldn't you know it, they're on my server! So I just had to roll a new Minstrel to hang out with them, and that's one of the big projects I'll be working on this weekend. Apart from that, I'm enjoying a new Cabalist build in RIFT, exploring Rohan with my Captain in LotRO, and pushing toward the finish line of 100% world completion in Guild Wars 2.

Mike Foster, Contributing Editor

@MikedotFoster: Uh, Firefall is having a beta weekend. Why is anyone playing anything that is not Firefall? Seriously, play Firefall.

MJ Guthrie, Columnist Extraordinaire and Contributing Editor

@MJ_Guthrie: Real life and travel are snatching up nearly my entire weekend, but I intend to squeeze some EverQuest II crafting and try to either upgrade my rifle skill in The Secret World or go ahead and start on a totally different weapon, like shotgun.

Patrick Mackey, League of Legends and Age of Wushu Columnist

@mackeypb: I am playing more of the same as last week: Age of Wushu, Guild Wars 2, and League of Legends. In AoW, the 2nd inner skills for each school launched, so I'm leveling those and dealing with guild drama. In GW2, I have not decided between my asura ranger and norn thief; I like both, but have not progressed very far on either. In LoL, things haven't really changed though my losing streak is starting to plateau. I still lose about 3 out of every 5 games right now. Fortunately, I am still a beast at ARAM (over 80% win rate), or my self-esteem would be entirely shot.

Richie Procopio, Multimedia Contributor

@RichieProcopio: The January update for Guild Wars 2 lands next week, so this weekend I'll probably make sure all of my characters are ready for the update. I'm also going to continue to get my zombie fix by playing The Walking Dead. It has such an amazing story with great characters and sick scenarios. I can't wait for the show to come back from its mid-season hiatus.

Shawn Schuster, Senior Editor

@Epykbeard: I just built a new gaming rig after my five-year-old beast finally went out to pasture, and it's like I'm discovering these games all over again. Why didn't anyone tell me that Guild Wars 2 is this gorgeous on max settings?!? Oh, you did. Anyway, I'll be working on leveling my Ranger through his 50s and finishing my Mesmer main's storyline in Guild Wars 2, with some time spent in The Secret World as well. In the meantime, I have about a million MMOs to redownload.

Terilynn Shull, Star Trek Online Columnist

@terilynns: I will be spending my last weekend playing MMOs on this 3-year old laptop. I plan to sign on to all my Star Trek Online alts and organize the insanity called inventories; trying to prepare for the upcoming STO 3rd Anniversary events!

At the start of every weekend, we catch up with the Massively staff members and ask them, "What are you playing this week?" (Otherwise known as: WRUP!) Join us to see what we're up to in and out of game -- and catch us in the comments to let us know what you're playing, too!
