The Queue Screenshots of yore

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mike Sacco will be your host today.

This is the oldest screenshot I have on this hard drive, from back in Burning Crusade alpha. I don't think I was supposed to be taking screenshots. Don't tell anyone.

arconx asked:

I got a mogu question: Information about lei-shen indacates that the Thunder King ruled all the way till the pandaren monk rebellions, but if he was the the first emperor, then when did all those other emperor's came from?Like the one who made the saurok

Lei Shen was the first mogu emperor, but definitely not the last. He died long, long before the pandaren revolution. There have been a lot of mogu emperors.

vankartae asked:

The new frog model looks amazing compared to the Vanilla variety. Will battle pet frogs be updated to reflect the new model?

Unfortunately, the new frog model is only being used for the new 5.2 frog pets. The older, ugly frogs aren't being retroactively updated.

Hipponax asked:

Is there any word on when we might expect to see a regular mage column again? I know that people get busy, but even a temporary replacement for the regular columnist would be great. The last post from Christian Belt was more than 3 months ago and in the intervening time we've seen a lot of important mage changes (the fire nerf, the rise of arcane, the controversy surrounding scorch-weaving, etc.) all of which have gone essentially uncommented upon on this site. Apologies if this question has been answered before, but when Arcane Brilliance stopped being produced, my regular visits to this site stopped as well :(

We don't currently have a dedicated mage columnist and there's no ETA on when we might have one again.

demon.within.x asked:

Not a wow question but What do you think the story will be for the D3 xpac?

Something to do with Imperius, the Black Soulstone, or the numerous idiotic mistakes and loose ends the heroes ignored.

Alexey asked:

Why do we even have different gem qualities nowadays...Does anybody even use cut green gems?

I can understand having cheaper and weaker weapon enchants, since the good ones are really expesive, but gems? People who would use them just don't use any instead...

I think they're a relic from BC, when leveling gear had gem slots in it. You're right in that it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to have cut green gems when there are blue gems; I think the real purpose they serve is letting jewelcrafters skill up.
