WRUP: Of dinosaurs and patches
No Hearthstone so we'll have to kill some time with a game that we all currently play. No, not Bioshock: Infinite. I'm talk about WoW, the dinosaurs, and that upcoming patch. I can't speak for anyone else, but any patch that gets me closers to laying a keg of beer upside Garrosh's oversized melon is a patch I like.
By the way, does it bother anyone else that the orc looks so smug picking on the gnome? I always thought orcs were kind of bullies anyway, but they don't need to laugh about it. It just looks mean.
Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) Big old family barbecue this weekend! I doubt I'll be doing much playing beyond dailies -- for some reason, even though I've been exalted for ages, I'm still doing the Isle of Thunder dailies. I don't know why - it's the first time all expansion that I've felt compelled to do so even after hitting exalted. I just really like the island. As for 5.3, I'm really excited about the new scenarios! They all sound like they're going to be FULL OF LORE.
Allison Robert (@AllisonRobert) I won't be able to play this weekend, but I'll be cooking and cleaning a lot for the holiday. And because this is so huge for me personally, I'm going to cheat and say the best recent thing in the game is the change to loot specializations in patch 5.3 rather than the current patch. This is a huge quality-of-life increase for hybrid players and may speed up everyone's queue times as well. I no longer have to queue for ages as a tank -- I can just queue as a healer and select tank loot instead! Best news ever.

Dan Desmond (@Antigen_) I'll be playing the "resist buying BioShock Infinite until I've played the first one, at least" game this weekend, with maybe a bit of alting thrown in for good measure.
I think heroic scenarios sound pretty neat. I'll have to give them a whirl when they come out.
Daniel Whitcomb (@danielwhitcomb) I'm hoping to finish all my Kingsmouth quests on The Secret World and move on to the next area. I'm a completionist, so I want to get all of them. I'm also going to experiment some more with finding a decent second weapon to go with my Shotgun. I also plan to log on to the PTR and maybe check out some heroic scenarios.
As for the bonus question, with the possible exception of Tortos, who is just annoying with those adds, I am enjoying all the Throne of Thunder bosses I have faced so far.
Dawn Moore (@dawnwow) This weekend I'm writing, cleaning, and raiding, but between all that I'm going to sit down to start Elder Scrolls III for the first time. I've been putting it off for too long. Concerning patch 5.3, the PvP changes are the best news I've heard in a long time. I've always loved PvP, but there's a reason I went to League of Legends and StarCraft 2 to get my PvP fix the past couple of years. PvP should be about skill, not gear. Cannot wait.

Joe Perez (@lodurzj) AIRBRUSH ALL THE MINIS! seriously, a friend is paying me in comics to paint his guys up and he's got like 200 of them soooooo pretty much all that. Also a second playthrough of BioShock Infinite this weekend.
As far as patch 5.3, can I go ahead and say the new battle pets? Because I want all the pets. All. The. Pets.
Kristin Marshall (@kristin) I'll be raiding and leveling my rogue, Meanieface. Her face is super mean, by the way. As far as patch 5.3, there are quite a few exciting things! I'm looking forward to battle pet changes, lore stuff, and the "bad luck streak" protection on bonus rolls.
Matt "Matticus" Low (@matticus) I somehow caught a cold before the long weekend. I suspect I'll be mostly bed or couch ridden. But at least I can catch up on some games and pet battling! I'm enduring a losing streak in League of Legends right now and I'm hoping to snap it sometime soon.
Looking forward to the new scenarios though!

Still thinking about the lack of brain development in the dinosauria. Why don't dinosaurs seem to follow Marsh's law? Why do birds, since they're dino offshoots? I'm still puzzling it over.

Most looking forward to "championing" what kind of loot I want. It'd be far easier to run LFR as tank, my main spec, and go for Ret gear than have to stumble along as middling dps.
Megan O'Neill (@slowpoker) I have boss strats to write, headcanon to write, and my room to clean. And lots of procrastination of those things with leveling a warrior and pet battles and archaeology. I'm looking forward to going back to old raids for more pets, even if I haven't finished the achiev yet. I'm also looking forward to what heroic scenarios will be like.

Olivia Grace (@oliviadgrace) Running all the 5-mans on alts to get them all purple'd up in PvP gear! It's the future, seriously, 440-476 ilvl in record time! Alas, it's not so great for my tank, she will be subjected to the fresh hell that is Raid Finder tanking. Poor little thing. As far as the new patch, 5.3, I'm excited about the PvP gear changes, but most of all about the new arena and the new battleground. I'm worrying a little about the off-spec loot thing, who in their right mind will want to tank LFR now? Everyone will do what Allison said and queue as healer then select tank gear...
Unless new patch means 5.2, in which case it's the way you can run 5-mans until your hand falls off to get 476 ilvl on alts.
Robin Torres (@cosmiclaurel) I'll be hosting another scavenger hunt for It came from the Blog. Otherwise, I'll be playing my Alliance duo with The Spawn or leveling my third Horde 90. Oh and family will be participating in a pagan egg hunting ritual this weekend. Happy 2nd Chocolate Day of the year!
Sarah Pine (@ilaniel) I can't wait to start doing the Horde rebellion quests (at least from the Alliance perspective; I have no max-level Horde toons). Even more so, though, I am thrilled to death with Moira's new scenario. (At least, what I've heard from it in the data mined sound files. Haven't been able to get into it on the PTR yet.) This expansion has just been chock full of characters I didn't think would see center stage, and it's magnificent. I love Moira, I love the direction this new scenario implies her character is going. I hope she continues to grow and I hope we get to see a lot more of her in the future!
