WRUP: A spectacular week edition

I'm not saying it was the Black Death, but it felt apropos.

Certain moments force you to re-evaluate certain life choices. Monday evening was one of those nights for me. Specifically, it forced me to re-evaluate the choice to ever eat anything other than saltines, as I was suffering from the most debilitating stomach virus I have ever experienced. You don't want to know the details; I will say that it was about 24 hours before I ate anything approaching food again, and that was a handful of crackers.

Given the pattern of the past couple weeks, I fully expect for everything I love to burst into flame over the course of the next several days. Right now, it's time to stop thinking about the week that's past and focus on WRUP, wherein all of the Massively staffers let you know what they'll be up to for the weekend. Check out the rundown past the break, and let us know your plans in the comments!

Beau Hindman, F2P and Mobile Columnist

@Beau_Hindman: I'll be switching to Heroes and Generals for next week's Rise and Shiny. It's a nice-looking browser-based WWII MMOFPS. I'll also be rolling in APB: Reloaded some more, hopefully grabbing some time in RuneScape, and preparing for my MUD May Month, a month of columns based on MUDs and why they still rule. I'm really enjoying my time on Gemstone IV's hardcore RP server.

Bree Royce, Editor-in-Chief

@nbrianna: I'll probably be in Guild Wars 2 a bit, hopefully to do some more dungeons. And I'd like to give Villagers & Heroes of A Mystical Land another try, but man, the energy mechanic gets under my skin.

David Desi, Multimedia Contributor

@PsykopigAU: I'm still busy bug hunting in Defiance. I'm finally starting to get into the MMO parts of the game. More dungeons, more PvP and more loot hunting!

I'll probably also hit up a bit of Skyrim, because it hit me in the face out of nowhere how great that game is.

Eliot Lefebvre, Columnist Extraordinaire and Senior Contributing Editor

@Eliot_Lefebvre: It's probably going to be a bit of a weird weekend in Star Wars: The Old Republic for me -- my biggest motivator lately has been roleplaying and systematically making my characters' lives miserable. But I've also got some leveling and alt projects to work on as well. Otherwise, I'm trying to find the time to dig my teeth into another single-player project (suggestions welcome).

Jasmine Hruschak, Multimedia Contributor

@irljasmine: Neverwinter. All of the Neverwinter. I would make more words about it but my great weapon fighter is beckoning.

Jef Reahard, Managing Editor and Columnist Extraordinaire

@jefreahard: I've returned to Lord of the Rings Online. We'll see how long the post-Helm's Deep announcement glow lasts. I'm also dabbling on yet another SWTOR alt as well as my Gunslinger. And there's always the single-player Steam backlog that grows larger by the week.

Justin Olivetti, Columnist Extraordinaire and Senior Contributing Editor

@Sypster: Right now my focus is on gorging on Neverwinter, so that's where you'll probably find me. I have some interesting ideas for Foundry missions, but I probably won't have time to make them this weekend, however. Gotta level so that I can run those dungeons!

Matt Daniel, Contributing Editor

@mvmatt: This weekend I'll be grinding my RL skills a bit (i.e., studying for final exams), but once I've crammed my brain with so much information that my ears bleed, I plan to wind down with some Neverwinter and Forge. And let me say this: If you've got five bucks to spare, throw it down on Forge. You won't regret it.

MJ Guthrie, Columnist Extraordinaire and Contributing Editor

@MJ_Guthrie: EverQuest II has double XP this weekend, so I am thinking it is time to do some crafting. Other than that, I plan to go revel in the DPS power that is my Illuminati in The Secret World and might even meander into SWTOR a bit. Of course, this all depends on how well connection holds up on my travel laptop!

Richie Procopio, Multimedia Contributor

@RichieProcopio: I will be playing a whole lot of Neverwinter this weekend and seeing how far I can level my devoted cleric before the early access ends. I may try to snag the last few achievements I need in the Guild Wars 2 Super Adventure Box as well. Oh yeah and then there's that Tomb Raider game, which continues to amaze me. I need more time in the day for all of this gaming!

Terilynn Shull, Star Trek Online Columnist

@terilynns: It's a big weekend for me! I'll be testing more Romulan and other content on Star Trek Online, having more fun in Neverwinter, and finishing off some anniversary quests in Lord of the Rings Online so I can get the anniversary steed on a couple of my alts!

At the start of every weekend, we catch up with the Massively staff members and ask them, "What are you playing this week?" (Otherwise known as: WRUP!) Join us to see what we're up to in and out of game -- and catch us in the comments to let us know what you're playing, too!
