The Queue: A special Saturday special

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today.

Alex is doing the Queue on a Saturday? What is this madness?

gazaa07 asked:

Is there any reason why Pandarans can't be druids? the Pandaran's main lesson was about balance so that (and the elemental - or alemental) are why they are shaman. Balance between light and dark is why they are priests. So wouldn't balance with nature and the giant turtle that is The Wandering Isle allow them to be druids?

It likely comes down to the fact that they just didn't have anyone in their isolated culture that could train people how to do that. Azerothian cultures that are inclined to take on druidism had someone there to teach them how to do it. The pandaren may never have been exposed to that, so it never crossed their mind to pursue it. They interacted with nature in other ways.

If Blizzard ever broadens race/class options again, I'm sure druids will be a class added to the pandaren.

For a simpler, sillier explanation, bears shapeshifting into other bears is weird.

Aubrey asked:

Related to the question about capitals, why do you think Blizz decided to put the AH, and therefore designate the recipient as the Alliance hub, in Ironforge? Orgrimmar made since as the leading Horde races has always been Orcs, and it holds other wings for a few other races. Ironforge has always just been Dwarves and a handful of Gnomes though, while Humans have always been the flagship race of the Alliance while also housing multiple other races. Why didn't they put the sole AH in Stormwind from the start?

As someone mentioned in a comment yesterday, it may have come down to geographical location. Ironforge is relatively central in the Eastern Kingdoms and was very close to most endgame content -- Molten Core, Blackrock Spire, Blackwing Lair, and so forth. It may have been a matter of Ironforge being better organized, too. The capital is built in a circle with everything you need in a clearly labeled, dedicated location. Stormwind's layout is slightly more urban, more like a city, where you might need good directions to figure out where you're going on your first visit. Ironforge made new players' first experiences in the hub city simpler.

Kuhmist asked:

Just noticed I now have Darkspear Rebellion rep set at 0/3000 neutral on the armory.

I haven't seen anything which suggests how we might gain that rep. Do you think it is there ready for 5.4 and we will gain rep from within the raid (if so, why is it there already?) or is there some other, as yet, undisclosed (or undiscovered by me) method of gathering rep?

It's possible that it's reserved for the raid content, yes. It's also possible that they created that reputation as a method of creating the cross-faction NPCs, people that both factions can interact with equally. Rather than making those NPCs generic neutral NPCs, they can give them a cool label at the same time.

But yes, it's probably related to the upcoming raid.

Puntable1 asked:

I had a crazy idea. Right now we have a Barrens phased for level 10 and level 90 doing content in the same zone. Couldn't they do this for many more, or even all zones? What if instead of going to Outland at level 60, you could go to a level 60 Duskwood to level, and then go to a level 62 Stranglethorn? Might this be that "big thing" they say is coming?

I'm sure they'll do it with individuals zones where it's useful, but I personally doubt they'll make high level versions of every zone in the game. That's a serious undertaking. Repopulating every zone for Cataclysm was overly ambitious. Doing it again while also providing other content is crazy talk.

If I'm misunderstanding you and you just mean scaling up the levels of mobs, and keeping everything else the same ... eh, who knows?
