WRUP: Keeping hope alive for E3

Okay, so this has been a Debbie downer week on the Xbox One front. And let's not act like the PlayStation 4 is clear, since we simply don't know what its plans are just yet. Anyway, here we go: optimism, optimism, optimism! Let's hope consoles come out in one piece after E3.

What's everyone playing?

• Alexander Sliwinski (@Sliwinski): Preparing for all things E3. There's no time for video games during E3.

• Danny Cowan (@Sardoose): It feels weird to put Etrian Odyssey IV aside so I can play Class of Heroes 2 instead, but that's what I'm doing. I'm also playing a ton of Toro's Friend Network on Vita. Let's be friends, nya.

• David Hinkle (@DaveHinkle): Like so many years before it, this is the weekend I go for a new high score in Suitcase Tetris. E3!!!

• Jess Conditt (@JessConditt): Guacamelee on Vita. Mmmmmmm.

• Jordan Mallory (@Jordan_Mallory): Thanks to Nintendo's recent and surprising embrace of day-and-date digital releases, I'll be able to buy Animal Crossing: New Leaf the morning of my departure for E3, before I head to the airport and long before any brick and mortar retailer would be open. I plan to enjoy adorable mayoral duties during my 7 a.m. flight to Los Angeles, in between tiny bottles of airplane gin.

• Ludwig Kietzmann (@LudwigK): I'm trying to find some time for The Last of Us and Gunpoint, but E3 preparation is already depleting my mental reserves dedicated to survival and espionage.

• Mike Schramm (@MikeSchramm): The return of my Diablo 3 obsession (level 60, heading to paragon 100) will have to wait, as I've got a lot of E3 work to do already. This could possibly be the last "new generation of consoles" E3 ever, and I can't wait to make the most of it!

• Mike Suszek (@MikeSuszek): Beardo pulled a fast one and decided to stay in my Animal Crossing: New Leaf town. I'm committing time to convincing him to leave all over again before E3.

• Richard Mitchell (@TheRichardM): Portable stuff for the E3 trip: Castlevania Mirror of Fate, Soul Sacrifice, Persona 4 Golden. I guess I should start organizing my GameFly queue for all the sweet Xbox One games I'm going to rent too!

• Sinan Kubba (@Shoinan): I will be boarding with Heroes of Ruin, Paper Mario: Sticker Star, and Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention.

• Steven Wong: I plan on breaking some faces with Injustice.

• Xav de Matos (@Xav): I have The Last of Us, but I may just end up playing more Marvel Heroes and EVE Online. No, I don't know what happened to me either.
