Because it forced the player to get involved in the story. When you have to move around on foot versus go up in the air, point your mount towards the golden arrow (literally) on the minimap, and then fly forward forgetting about it while looking at the clouds ... you are exceptionally disconnected from the world. Mists brought back the sense of world, of engagement. You're able to really understand the terrain, discover new things, and explore like you do in Skyrim. It's not just a hop, skip, and a jump and you're 90.
Of course that doesn't mean there isn't problem with this, and it doesn't mean there shouldn't be flying when you reach 90. There should be, but it's also okay to limit that -- and I don't think Blizzard is afraid to do just that when it needs to for the sake of gameplay and story.
So, I ran the entire quest chain in Western Plaguelands for the first time since Cataclysm landed, and I was awed at the ending with Sylvanas and Koltira Deathweaver. Is there any way to see what Koltira is going through at the moment in the Undercity? He is someone I'd really like to get some follow-up on.
I loved WPL back in Vanilla, and I loved it even more post Cataclysm. Such a great and engaging story. But no, the story isn't finished, as Skarn pointed out. Skarn was also right when he's said Blizzard folks have commented that we'll see more at some point.
To this end, let me just say that I fully expect there to be another return to Lich King story line. Remember the Lich King ain't dead. Bolvar is probably going insane up there trying to keep the Scourge under control.
It's just ripe for a sequel. One that I want to play, too.
How exactly do you get a mailbox in your farm? Only my main is exalted with all the Tillers, and no other alt have the mailbox so i am not sure which farmer you need to have exalted to get it.
Become best friends with Gina, get a mailbox.
So, are you guys planning on doing post mortems for the Pandaria zones, and the entire expansion as we are coming to the end of MoP?
It's on my notepad of article ideas, and given how successful they were the last time around, I don't see why not. Will happen later in the year though, after we know for sure Mists is done.
