WRUP: There's always something new around the corner

WRUP There's always something new around the corner

The nice thing about the PTR is that there's always something new around the corner. You have the excitement of each new build, deciphering that data, and generally getting excited about what's to come. It's like getting ready for Christmas every single time. So, of course, our bonus question this week was to ask our intrepid WoW Insider staff about their feelings on the PTR.

Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) I'll be guesting on the Justice Points podcast this weekend - it's not a live show, but I'll be mentioning the podcast on Twitter once it's up for downloading and all that jazz. Other than that, I may try to get some more valor points farmed this weekend. I really can't wait for 5.4 to go live - the Timeless Isle is AMAZING. I like fiddling around with it on the PTR, but I'd rather be playing it on live!

Chase Hasbrouck (@alarondruid, @alaronmonk) I've been bumped up the ladder at work; instead of supervising 300 users, I now have ~1500. Sadly, there's lots that needs to be put right at the moment, so my limited game time is even more limited. I've been playing BL2 DLC a bit though. Sir Hammerlock's was frustrating and not very fun (and those vampire witch doctors with the lifedrain beam that ignores terrain can go die in a fire...literally, that's about the only way to kill them), but Tiny Tina's is MUCH better.

Still haven't touched PTR. Am getting more and more excited about Timeless Isle, based on what I hear, though.

Dan Desmond (@Antigen_) Now that I have my computer upgraded and seemingly stable, I'll be jumping back into some raids this weekend. I keep wanting to start a Horde alt, but I can't find a class I want to play that isn't a paladin.

I have not yet touched Timeless Isle content on the PTR, so when I eventually get around to that I'm sure it'll be a blast. The Proving Grounds I've done so far have been a lot of fun, though -- gold for DPS was kinda hard, and endless isn't easy by any means, which makes me happy.

Daniel Whitcomb (@danielwhitcomb) Gotta run my alts through the Darkmoon Faire profession quests, so I'll do that. Also thinking of playing some more Saint's Row 3 in Anticipation of SR4 later this month. As far as the PTR goes. Eh. It'll be nice to have new content, and I am looking forward to my legendary cloak, but I wish there was a more engaging story for the Alliance.

Dawn Moore (@dawnwow) I don't have any ambitious gaming plans this weekend, just some valor capping alongside Sunday's raid. PTR is all right, though I don't think there is much left for me to test at this point. I'm really curious how far off patch 5.4 is, since there hasn't been any 25-man testing on PTR yet.

Elizabeth Wachowski (@leeatwaterlives) I'm still playing DAO: Awakening. If I finish that, I'll work on the Borderlands 2 or Skyrim xpacs.

Joe Perez (@lodurzj) Fighting the allergy boss this weekend so that should be fun, also hitting up my area's County Fair. Still leveling my baby monk, I finally got her to level 65. I'm hoping to push another 15 levels on her this weekend so I can do a Herald of the Titans run on her in this coming week.

The PTR is pretty darn cool, and I honestly cannot wait for patch 5.4 to go live. It is definitely going to be a great patch, and I'm super excited.

Kristin Marshall (@kristin) I have family visiting this weekend, so I won't be playing anything, really! We may end up driving to the mountains and doing touristy Seattle stuff. I haven't spent too much time on the PTR, either! But I'm really interested in the Timeless Isle additions. :)

Lisa Poisso (@lisapoisso) I'm playing ZOMG Summer is Almost Over Must Complete All the Vacation Things. I'll be trying to keep my daughter offline and focused - easier said than done, since she's just started a new draenei paladin and is enraptured by how much money she can make selling newbie herbs on the auction house.

Matt "Matticus" Low (@matticus) I picked up Guns of Icarus during a recent sale and it's a neat little co-op game where you work with other players on an airship while trying to takedown other enemy air ships. Takes a ton of coordination, skill, and luck to really do so. You have your captain who pilots the ship, gunners who man the cannons, and engineers who can mark targets and repair any damage your airship takes. It's kinda neat actually!

PTR has been going okay. We've moved onto the heroic testing of content and I don't normally go in for those as groups become much more harder to get into. Everyone's looking for 13/13 experience :(. Otherwise, I'm pretty pumped for the upcoming release!

Matthew Rossi (@MatthewWRossi) Hopefully ICC this weekend/Tonight. I'm still mad about the Glyph of the Weaponmaster nerf

Olivia Grace (@oliviadgrace) I will likely be gearing my latest shaman, and also levelling another priest! My tentative forays into US servers are going well, but plugged group content has been, well, eye-opening in places.

As far as the PTR goes, I'm really excited about patch 5.4. Timeless isle is, in my opinion, amazing. It's content built for people who like to play the game the way I do, and I can't wait, I'm already spending way too much time on there murdering people as it is.

Sarah Pine (@ilaniel) I've just started picking up my games again after spending most of the last week in bed, so I haven't been on the PTR in a bit. I have no complaints from before then, though the Timeless Isle was pretty jam packed full of other players last time I was there, not that it will be any different when 5.4 actually drops!

The weekend is the perfect time to kick back, relax and enjoy some game time. Are you an achievement junkie? Can't get enough raiding? Rolling a new alt? Considering taking the leap into roleplaying? Whatever your favorite way to play World of Warcraft, let us know in the comments what you're playing this weekend!
