One Shots: Oh, wow

One Shots Oh, wow

Have you ever experienced an MMO before and after a major computer upgrade? Reader Tyler has, and he's floored by it.

"Up until recently, I had a very low-end computer that struggled to run The Secret World at even the lowest settings," he wrote. "The game looked terrible, and I lagged so badly it was almost unplayable, so I finally got fed and up and begged, borrowed, and stole enough for a proper gaming computer. I can now run the game smoothly at max settings, and my God, it's beautiful. My first five minutes were spent repeating the phrase, 'Oh, wow' and spamming the screenshot key. This shot is my favourite. If you look closely, you can see a slight pattern of shadow on my Templar's chest. This is the moonlight shining through her hair. Amazing."

Will you be saying, "Oh, wow!" after seeing the rest of the pictures from this week's player submissions? I think you might!

One Shots Oh, wow

Here's a game that we don't see too often in One Shots: Mabinogi. And I love getting screenshots of games we don't see too often, as it is cause for celebration. "Huzzah!" I cry out to the Massively office. "A submission that isn't yet-another-Guild-Wars-2 screenshot! Break open the bubbly! Release the hostages!"

"Here's a screen of the cutscene introducing Glas Ghaibhleann, the main boss of the Generation 1 storyline," reader Derrick sent in. "Thought he looked cool, like something out of Silent Hill."

One Shots Oh, wow

Jell-o is amazing. It's a solid but it's a wobbly solid that tastes great, and it seems to be a universal hospital food. But there's a darker side to Jell-o, and that's when it attacks you and eats everyone you hold dear.

Reader Becca found this out to her peril: "My cleric had a sudden hankering for lime Jell-o in a Neverwinter quest mission!"

Yum.

Hey, speaking of Guild Wars 2, Prantik has this really neat shot to share with us. Jaws, prepare to drop: "This is a castle I found in the Charr branded region. I took several images and stitched them together using Microsoft Image Composite Editor."

If this was my castle, I would so rent it out for Halloween parties and vampire fan clubs. I'd make dozens of dollars. Dozens!

All right, are you ready for your screenshot challenge of the week? Here it is: Instead of killing the local wildlife, I want you to capture their beauty, their spirit, their nobility with your camera instead.

And then kill them.
