The Queue: Hunting demons

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today.

Today, our first and last questions go hand-in-hand. Sort of.

vocenoctum asked:

Currently Hide Cloak and Hide Helm are options, what other pieces of armor would you hide if you could? Shoulders, gloves maybe?

Before the addition of transmogrification, I would have said belt. I can deal with enormous, ridiculous shoulders -- they're kind of a Blizzard game icon -- but I wasn't real into the WWE championship belts we started getting. I would've hidden those as fast as possible if I could. Now that we have transmog, I have something I really like kicking around for just about every slot. I don't hide anything but a cloak these days. My rogue is almost constantly rocking tier 9 with the Ebon Mask in the helm slot. I love it.

foxkelfonne asked:

Anyone think we'll get Hearthstone raids in the future? 3 Players against an AI deck? I really liked the way the Icecrown Citadel raid deck worked in the WoW TCG, with the Lich King's ability being a wipe on turn 11 if you didn't kill him by then. The comment below about Saurfang having a 10 Mana ability that kills everything ever reminded me of it, and I think it could be a cool thing to add later on.

I think that could be a lot of fun! I'm not sure how likely it is to happen, Hearthstone seems razor-focused on PvP content, but maybe they'll do something like that one day. Maybe a "party mode" where you and a bunch of friends can play out cool scenarios. Of course, they would need to add the ability to do more than 1v1 first, which greatly increases game complexity. It's likely far more difficult to make a video game capable of doing that than a physical card game. In a physical game, you and your friends can all sit around a bigger table. In Hearthstone, they would need to build the table and everything that entails.

In short, I'd love to see something like that, but I wouldn't expect it to happen in the near future.

Since it's a Free-to-Play game, maybe they could make make content like that cost a couple bucks? The WoW TCG versions certainly weren't free!

ScottLeyes asked:

Hearthstone emotes -- what do YOU think needs to be added?

The only emote I feel I truly need but do not have is some way to express my frustration when I have a hand of cards that are not at all useful to me. I know I shouldn't give that kind of information away to my opponent, but whining about it sure is cathartic!

draknfyre asked:

I know WoW Insider has no control over ad content, but I wanted to vent my frustration with this apparent new one. It's a combination video, Twitter feed, and banner ad for Climate Reality. And it's so resource intensive, that it's slowing my browser down on my laptop. As I type, my letters skip and some end up missing. I don't like to block unobtrusive ads on sites I like, but considering I have seen it twice now, if it keeps popping up, I might have to.

We have some control in that we can report ads that are significantly impacting the usability of our site. The general rules for ads in our network is no autoplay, no popup, and no totally breaking our website's layout. "Autoplay" meaning you have not interacted with it whatsoever and it's playing sound on its own. If it starts playing something on click or mouseover, that's acceptable -- because it means the user chose to interact with the ad. In my experience, though, seeing those on our site is pretty rare.

If you run into an autoplay, popup, or site-breaking ad, take a screenshot of the ad in question and send us an email about it on our tipline and we'll pass it up the chain. If you don't like it simply because it's advertising a product you don't like (which isn't the case here, obviously) then ... well, we aren't going to do anything about that. That is, unless it's genuinely inappropriate, like an ad for pornography slipped through somehow. If it's something like you don't support X political candidate or you hate Y variety of toothpaste, we won't touch that.

ACarlosA asked:

Bolvar was a Paladin?

Yep! Even back in classic World of Warcraft. He used spells such as an AOE Hammer of Justice. Wrath of the Lich King made it even more obvious, with NPCs specifically referring to him as "paladin" in Icecrown.

Talking about "woefully out of date" here is a reminder - either take the leveling guides totally off or update them please.

We'll update them again for the next expansion. Doing it this late in Mists of Pandaria wouldn't be terribly useful.

If we ever get Demon Hunters, and we aren't allowed to use an invisible chestpiece, I am going to be mad. Bare-chested is the traditional "outfit" for a Demon Hunter.

Maybe a top that "pretties up" the bikini top on women. So a female Demon Hunter can run around, still with a nearly-bare chest, but not looking like they are simply wearing their bikini underwear top. Maybe add some leather to it, or some metal fasteners, or something.

I say the Demon Hunter chestpieces should be runic tattoos that are laid over the skin. New tattoos every tier and you can keep your favorites around for transmog. You could call it "paint" instead of "tattoo" as a justification for it.

If the tattoos are intricate enough and cover enough skin, I think the "bra only" thing would work on female characters, too. I typically hate the armored bikini look, but if there isn't all that much skin showing, I don't think it would be that big of a deal. Granted, I am a man, so my perspective isn't necessarily correct on that one.
