The Queue: What I like about Queue

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Matthew Rossiwill be your host today.

Queue really know how to ask questions about World of Warcraft.

Let's answer some now.

RetiredBear asks:
If someone starts an account the day after WoD launch and opts out of the boost in favour of leveling to 90 the slow way, then what? They won't have boost gear or a stack of TI tokens from alts

They also won't need it. If they level to 90, they'll still have the option of doing the Tanaan Jungle starter experience, which is easily completed in even green Mists of Pandaria gear and which rewards several blue quality items at ilevel 500+ -- they'll easily get to go to Frostfire Ridge or SMV in gear more than capable of dealing with the creatures they encounter.

cgilm2526 asks:
Do you think people are going to freak when they see low numbers due to the item squish? I am playing around In the beta and got a blue drop that had +54 haste. Really? I am supposed to be happy about that. LOL. I think its going to be a huge culture shock for many people.

Frankly, after a few minutes of adjustment I barely even notice it anymore. It really just doesn't seem to be a huge deal.

TgrHwke asks:
Is there anyone who is currently playing in the beta that hasn't yet pre-ordered and upgraded their account to Warlords?

Me. I haven't. That's why I was considering what to do with my free level 90 boost once I do, as I'm planning on doing so this month.

Zadji asks:
Q4tQ: What is your favorite waste of gold in WoW? I just bought Kalytha's Haunted Locket for 5000G and absolutely love it. Much cooler cast animation on the nelf female than on my spacegoat male. Plus, it looks like she's carrying around these ridonculous lvl 90 maces that are almost as big as she is.

The Reins of the Grand Expedition Yak. I bought it because it had a reforger on it. In Warlords it will have a transmogrification vendor on it. I love it even more now.

Siopilos asks:
I'm sure its been covered, but it still confuses me: what's up with Velen? Of all the people who existed in both separate timelines he is probably the one that sticks out as being alive and well (not to mention all-seeing) with something very heavily invested in this new-old world. So how does it work? Are we working with our Velen, the WoD Velen, or some weird paradox fused entity?

The Velen we meet in Shadowmoon Valley is the Velen of that Draenor.

Stormweavers asks:
Normally any new system changes are done with the pre-patch so players have time to see the changes prior to delving into the new content. Any word on what is being done about rings/necks that have spirit on them for classes like Priest, Shaman and druid where their DPS spec can win items that have spirit on them? An example is the Rising New Moon Talisman. Wowhead shows it just losing the stat of spirit, making it useless for the above classes for DPS.

The stat will remain, but it won't be useful to you. You simply will have spirit on a ring which won't serve you well as DPS. Remember, the changes like all plate gear having both strength and int and all mail gear having agi and int will not affect SoO and earlier gear - on the beta, all my SoO gear has strength, no intellect. While hit and expertise will be gone, spirit will not.

Albatross asks:
Okay, here's my question to the readers. Is it just my bad luck, or is it a big thing going on now in the long stretch of waiting for people to queue for roles they are completely wrong for in spec and gear? My troll disc priest just hit Northrend, and his last tanks have been an unholy DK, a fury warrior, and finally a resto druid in resto pvp gear who had me blowing every cooldown available on every pull, and kept LOSing me as he jumped around from bear to cat to normal form.

And if I put him and these other non-tank tanks on ignore, does that really mean I won't be put in an LFG with him when I decide to enter the queue again?

Just. Come on. Why do you do this. It's not fun, I just want to level up and get gear, not be forced into challenge mode in Utgarde Keep.

People have always done this, but the expansion lull is always a terrible time for it - people get bored and do awful things and you can't really stop them. Yes, putting them on ignore means you won't be queued with them again -- I often make use of this. As for why they do it - they do it because they believe the game is easy, never realizing (or caring) that the only reason they got through it was your hard work, skill, and effort. If you'd failed to keep them up, through no fault of your own I might add, they would have blamed you rather than their own lack of consideration.

Start letting them die.

That's the Queue for today. Thank you all for asking questions. That's what I like about Queue.
