The Queue: Blood moon

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today.

How many of you woke up at absurd hours to see the eclipse this morning? I didn't. Because I was already awake. Insomnia and sleep deprivation win again!

Odebek asked:

Have there been any details released about WoD launch day? Will it be released just after midnight (which time zone) between Nov 12 and 13th?

If this expansion launch is like previous Blizzard launches, it will become available for play as soon as the clock ticks over from November 12th to November 13th in the Pacific timezone. Even players in Eastern time will abide by Pacific time for the expansion's launch.

As I am not European, the functions of a European launch are unknown to me. If someone needs that, maybe a Euro will provide in the comments.

bskrug asked:

What do you think of Pittsburgh?

I know nothing of Pittsburgh other than it was (is?) a steel-making town.

jpec07 asked:

Is non-accidental PvP a thing in 6.0? Please tell me non-accidental PvP is a thing in 6.0.

Yes. Why wouldn't it be? You can engage in PVP the same way you could previously. The only thing you can't do anymore is "blueflag" someone -- that is, attack someone who is flagged for PVP while you are not. You have to toggle your PVP flag on before you can even begin a spellcast.

Is there some other change that made you think you can't PVP anymore?

FuzzyBunny61 asked:

When the patch drops if we are in Pandaria, how will we know to pick up the event quest? Does it only show if you are in your cap city, or will it show up for your character wherever s/he is?

You should be provided with the quest/information wherever your character is. The implementation on the PTR isn't necessarily a breadcrumb quest, but rather a big window that pops up telling you what's happening and where to go if you want to participate.

Guy With a Bad Word For a Name asked:

when is 6.0.2. being released?

No firm date has been given, but it's probably next week.

Elprede asked:

Guys guys guys....what if you woke up in azeroth as your main? How screwed are you?

I immediately use my hearthstone, retire from adventuring, and become a cook in Stormwind. Selling off everything in my bank should give me enough change to live a simpler life in relative comfort. I'm not screwed until some other new giant beastie decides to burn Stormwind to the ground.

As a sidenote, I initially capitalized "hearthstone" out of habit.

Kherova said:

good, we finally get a comment on the podcast problems...

If something has been mentioned in our comments, it's probably safe to assume we're aware of the problem. I know that might sound snide, but I'm just trying to say we do pay attention to the comments, the mail we receive, our Twitters, and so on. Some things take longer to fix than others -- and sometimes it takes even a bit longer because we take time to determine if it's something we can fix on our own or if we need to kick it up to our support staff and so on. We prefer to exhaust what we might be able to do to fix it before elevating to the actual technical people. We could comment on our awareness of something publicly, but my personal take is I'd rather be inundated with reports of a problem than inundated with people going, "Why is it taking so long? My quadriplegic parakeet could have fixed it faster!"

You're all totally welcome to report problems. Even if you've seen it reported before. But getting snarky isn't very helpful, because we're probably working on it and it's taking time.

Pelcherrimus asked:

For garrisons, can we have all four of the minor structures (fishing hole, mine, etc.) or do we have to choose one?

All of the minor plots unlock over the course of the leveling process. They unlock as follows:

  • Mine: Level 92

  • Fishing Hut: Level 94

  • Herb Garden: Level 96

  • Pet Menagerie: Level 100

No hard decisions to make there!
