The Queue: Dungeon difficulty, Dungeon Queues, Boost a warrior.

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Matthew Rossi will be your host today.

I'm one of those people who liked Mists of Pandaria. I thought and still think that it was a solid, well designed, well developed expac with a lot of solid new lore, well designed content, and that its major flaws were a lack of dungeons as the expansion continued, some PvP issues, and that deadly year plus with no new content at the end. So while I'm heartened to see Warlords having a positive effect and people excited for it, I'm not down on the 'stupid pandas' trip a lot of people seem to be on. If you didn't like Pandaria, that's your call, but it doesn't make those of us who did less intelligent than you. It's just a matter of taste.

That said, I'm in a paraoxysm of joy over the draenei lore in this expansion. I haven't leveled Horde yet - my tauren's getting impatient, but I have so much to do on my main it doesn't feel like the right time yet. Draenor is an incredibly well designed and executed expansion so far. It's a joy to play through.

Bugboy asks:
Q4tQ: I haven't gotten into the new dungeons yet, but recall that, difficulty-wise, they're supposed to be somewhere between Cata and MoP. Is that about where they are?

I'm of the opinion (based both on my own experiences and those of my friends) that some dungeons are harder than others. Slag Mines has issues if you're melee, as an example. I'd definitely argue that they veer towards the Cataclysm side of things. Skyreach and Auchindoun didn't seem too bad.

Chadshreeves asks:
QFTQ: Do you feel that leveling is a little too fast? I enjoy the quests in WoD, and I've seriously been trying to enjoy the ascetic of the new zones, but I've been leveling so fast it's hard to because I'm constantly getting quests for new areas. To me it almost feels like a little too quick leveling, I actually enjoyed the rate of levels in Mists(at launch) more.

No.

I could move on - that is my answer - but people seem to think I'm angry if I leave short responses, so I'll elaborate.

No, I don't think leveling is too fast. Admittedly, I didn't get to play at all Thursday or much of Friday, and so my dinging 100 on Sunday was only two days of play. That doesn't bother me. I've never been a huge fan of the idea that I should have to suffer through the levels to get to max, especially with the 10th anniversary on the horizon (tomorrow, I believe) and the Molten Core 40 player LFR in sight. The way leveling works now, if you want to blaze from 90 to 100, you absolutely can, and if you want to take your time, you can do that too. I prefer that.

Also, I do wonder what it's going to feel like to level to 100 from 1. I'm not going to lie, I'm not looking forward to that.

Netlive asks:
So subscriptions are up to 10 million

Why am I still getting 50 minute ques as a Dps?

That's how long the queues were as a DPS back when the subs were at 12 million. It's a combination of the following factors -

  1. More people want to DPS than tank or heal, to the point where even with room for three DPS, 1 tank, and 1 healer in a five man there aren't enough tanks and healers to go around.

  2. People are still leveling and gearing up, so even those players that want to tank or heal might not be geared up to do it yet.

  3. Of the people who came back, they don't all want to tank or heal anyway. We didn't just get an infusion of tanks.

aaron.christie219 asks:
Why does our garrison hearthstone's cooldown get used even if we don't actually get ported there because of an instance not found error? Anyone else had this happen to them a lot or is it just me?

Actually, it's the same for your regular hearthstone. It always has been. I remember this exact problem back when I was raiding AQ40. I hearthed back to IF to hit up the AH, but the world server was down, so there I was stuck in AQ with my hearth on cooldown. It's just part of how they code hearthstones.

kiwiyaa asks:
Q4tQ (actually I have 2 of them):

Sorry if this has been answered already, but did Blizz ever address us....meeting ourselves? Any orc character older than 30 could run into themselves as a child, couldn't they? Or is this an alternate Draenor where they player characters were never born?

Second, what class should I use my 90 boost on. I've never had a max level character besides my main shaman before in all my years, the pressure's too much!

You're not going to meet yourself. They haven't specifically said why yet - feel free to assume it's because it's an alternate Draenor where you were never born, or died before now. I'm going with the latter for my draenei - I originally was assuming he'd never been born but then I thought about him meeting his dead wife and her having no idea who he was and it actively made me feel ill, so I decided that the alternate version of me stayed home and died instead of her on this world. So now, instead of the blazing heartache of someone you love not even knowing who you are, there's the intense awkwardness of someone you love who isn't quite that person, and who doesn't quite know what to do around you.

Yes, I roleplay. It's a RPG.

Secondly, boost a warrior. Why? Because I said so, that's why.

chrth asks:
Q4TQ: Do you think Blizzard will remove Garrisons entirely when the next expansion comes out? Because I don't know if I can play a new expansion while also maintaining my Garrison forever.

I don't think they'll remove it - heck, we don't even know what the next expansion will be. Imagine if we just go to another continent on Draenor - we could easily keep the Garrison in place and have a new system of outposts on Ogre Continent South or what have you.

And that's the Queue for today. Have fun on Draenor, friends.
