The Queue: Blame the bird people

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) is answering all kinds of questions today.

Anyone remember the Simon Says Apexis crystal game in Ogri'la? Supposedly it's the arakkoa's fault, and the ogres of Ogri'la just found all these Apexis crystals and relics lying around, picked them up, and got very smart in the process. We might not be playing Simon Says in Draenor, but there's a horrifying reminder of the thing in a lone mine deep underground, oddly enough. Which makes me wonder -- was this irritating game of disastrous, zappy consequences really a relic of the arakkoa, or was this just the Titans playing their version of the buzzer-in-the-hand practical joke?

bushogg asked:

question for the que: does the level of my follower assigned to my barracks matter? If I am level 100 and my bodyguard is 94 should I level him to 100 or does it not matter?

Nope! He'll scale right up along with you. Feel free to take him along on whatever journeys you feel appropriate!

Slotts asked:

Q4tQ: Are there any race/class combos that for whatever reason you don't EVER want to see happen?

Forsaken paladins. Blood elf druids. Both are cool concepts in theory, but they wouldn't work in lore. Blood elves aren't concerned with nature in the slightest, they're far more concerned with magic and the arcane (and as of the Sunwell's re-ignition, the Light). Forsaken are actually damaged by the Light. Being healed by the Light is like being cauterized. It takes a special kind of Forsaken to be a priest. A Forsaken paladin? He'd cast consecrate and just detonate.

Revnah asked:

How often do you get a new follower from the Inn? I only got one, about two weeks ago.

Once a week. You have to speak to the headhunter to actually bring up the dialogue and pick one out.

angerfork asked:

Occasionally, when logging into either my hunter or my Druid (both Night Elves), I'll find myself in a pillar of light with a moon over my head. Is this part of the Touch of Elune talent, or something else?

That's the Touch of Elune, all right. I found it very odd while playing on my druid, because it seemed like almost every time I switched zones or subzones, the flare of light would go off again -- and sometimes it would switch from moon to sun if I happened upon a CRZ-enabled area. Pretty weird racial, but I'm not complaining!

Cyrael asked:

QftQ.. How are level 100 talents sitting with you? My main is a pally and it feels very much like there is one standout "best" for each spec and the others are very situational. This intended?

I play a rogue, so the three level 100 talents are kind of ... well, they're fun. I'm assassination, so I went with Shadow Reflection because it works pretty well with Vendetta. But Death From Above is just fun to see in action -- it's not really viable for my spec, but it's ridiculously fun to fiddle around with anyway. Venom Rush is okay, but it doesn't really have the fun-factor impact of the other two. I'm not sure how other classes are feeling, but I bet people will chime in in the comments section!

Vyrianthor asked:

Q4tQ: Do the Gorian ogres in Highmaul exist in Outland? I don't remember them, but one would expect them to live on.

Technically, all ogres fall under the Gorian Empire -- or they did, once. The ogres used to have an iron-clad rule over Draenor, but with the rise of the Iron Horde, that's kind of fallen by the wayside. Imperator Mar'gok has allied with the Iron Horde just to guarantee the safety of the empire, but it's more of a convenience alliance than anything. In the original timeline, Highmaul shattered into the Twisting Nether -- or it can be assumed that it did, since that section of Nagrand is simply missing from the map altogether. One could reasonably assume that between the slow fel corruption of the world and its shattering into Outland, there were so few ogres left behind that the empire simply splintered into nothing but the clans we find. So in a way, all ogres on Outland were probably part of the Gorian empire at one point in time -- but I'm guessing most of them are probably too dim to recall it.
