WRUP: The artist formerly known as EQN Landmark

Landmark

Welcome back to Massively's What Are You Playing, the game where we tell you what we're playing this weekend and you tell us how you're as relieved as we are that EverQuest Next Landmark finally ditched the huge and unwieldy brand name and shortened itself to just Landmark. Also is that Pikachu? And you thought you had only to worry about phallic symbols.

Anatoli Ingram, Columnist

@ceruleangrey: Final Fantasy XIV's patch 2.2 has rekindled my desire to play a lot, at least partly because I finally got sufficiently lovely flowing locks for my lovely Aetherflowing Elezen dude. It's kind of interesting to try something other than Marauder or Warrior because I frequently forget that the game has other classes. I'm stoked to get a fairy, though. How cool are fairies? Super cool.

Beau Hindman, Columnist

@Beau_Hindman: I'll be spending as much time as possible in Free Realms and streaming its last hours on Monday. I can't believe they're shutting it down; I feel worse about that one than almost any MMO to date. I mean, it's a sandbox for kids.

Bree Royce, Editor-in-Chief

@nbrianna: I've been having an inexplicably good time on my newish Guild Wars 2 Asura Guardian, so I'll probably be playing her Yoda-style with her giant two-hander. Also been tempted by Reaper of Souls; my guildies just keep raving about the festival of loot.

Eliot Lefebvre, Senior Contributing Editor

@Eliot_Lefebvre: I have so much stuff to do in Final Fantasy XIV, you don't even know. Actually, it's not all that much since I'm not really super interested in mucking around within the new turns of Coil, but learning three new dungeons and uncovering some of the methods to empowering my weaponry is more than enough. I've also still got my love affair going with Star Trek Online, and I've got games to play and content to write for my personal blog. So it should be quite busy!

Jef Reahard, Managing Editor

@jefreahard: I'll be twiddling my gaming thumbs and doing non-gaming things until 7:00 a.m. EDT on Sunday. Not sure when/why my personal Elder Scrolls Online light came on, but I'd almost forgotten what it feels like to be excited for a AAA MMO launch. So that's nice.

Justin Olivetti, Senior Contributing Editor

@Sypster: Probably most of my gaming time will be spent in Guild Wars 2 as I wait for big releases elsewhere. I've got plenty of alts to level up and side projects to do in that game. And... um, yeah. That's it. I'm boring.

MJ Guthrie, Contributing Editor

@MJ_Guthrie: I will most likely mine and chop trees until the wee hours of every morning in Landmark. I also get to use a sickle on plants! I intend to start poking around The Elder Scrolls Online during early access to prep for streaming on Monday afternoon. Maybe I can squeeze in a Nightmare Dungeon in The Secret World as well, but after that, it is back to Landmark!

At the start of every weekend, we catch up with the Massively staff members and ask them, "What are you playing this week?" (Otherwise known as: WRUP!) Join us to see what we're up to in and out of game -- and catch us in the comments to let us know what you're playing, too!
