Sony says there is 'healthy consumer demand' for Vita

Feel an ache in your wallet? Sweating palms that yearn to hold molded plastic? A constant craving to play games like Tearaway, Gravity Rush and Uncharted: Golden Abyss? Fear not friend, for according to doctors Sony representatives, these are but symptoms of a "healthy consumer demand" for a PlayStation Vita.

Speaking to Polygon, Sony reps said that the new, slimmed-down model of the PlayStation Vita has spurred "strong interest among gamers," and the company is replenishing stock in order to "ensure continued momentum leading into the holidays."

While sales for Sony's newest handheld were initially sluggish - especially compared to its competition, the Nintendo 3DS - its numbers picked up near the PlayStation 4 launch, though Sony hasn't shared exact numbers for some time.
