Alien: Isolation pre-order DLC available separately 'at a later date'

The Creative Assembly moved to answer concern regarding its newly revealed pre-order DLC for Alien: Isolation by confirming the content will be available separately after release.

Earlier in the week, Sega revealed the content starring the cast of the original film would be tied to pre-orders, with one of the two DLC missions, "Last Survivor," only available at GameStop in the US. However, the news drew disapproval from some quarters, with many dismayed to see substantial content limited to pre-orders and used to promote them.

"However, some of you have been asking if the two pieces of content are only available through pre-order or if we'll be releasing them at a later date as well," Creative Assembly Community Manager Ngan Nguyen said on the game's Facebook page. "So, I can confirm today that we do plan to release both Crew Expendable and Last Survivor at a later date and we'll have more details for you guys on that shortly."

As a new trailer shows, the two DLC missions return players to the original Alien film and the Nostromo ship. Actors Signourney Weaver, Tom Skerritt, Veronica Cartwright, Harry Dean Stanton and Yaphet Kotto lend voices once more to their likenesses, while players can step into Ellen Ripley's shoes and try to match her reality-defying calmness when all hell breaks loose. Our prediction? Well, we can't lie to you about your chances, but... you have our sympathies.

Alien: Isolation boldly goes on October 7, when it'll hit PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
