WRUP: Hitting up Highmaul edition

Another week has come and gone, which means it's time to sit down and catch up on some games. As the holidays approach, just what are you playing? At Team WoW Insider, we've been exploring Highmaul... but with the holiday season almost upon us, it can get harder to get a guild raid group together, which makes LFR the perfect "quick fix" raid.

But to hear all about the gaming we're doing, read on! And, of course, jump in to the comments and let us know just what you're playing this weekend.

Adam Holisky (@AdamHolisky) I'm going to work on loremaster a bit and take some nice, easy, and slow strolls through the quests. I've only experienced Highmaul from LFR, and I'm pretty disappointed. It's basically a tank-and-spank situation with no real gameplay involved. It's easier to gear up through LFR than through heroics, and that doesn't sit well with me.

Adam Koebel (@BendakWoW) There won't be much playing this weekend. Lots of running around, gatherings, and other holiday stuff to do. As for Highmaul, I've only been doing normal mode so far and I'm having a lot of fun. I've enjoyed all the bosses I've tried, except doing the flame thrower on Brackenspore. I hate when encounters have those jobs that no one wants to volunteer for and someone always ends up getting "stuck" with them. Usually a hunter. Now that I've found this macro for the flame thrower everyone's been passing around, maybe it'll be nicer next time. Raid finder is a total pushover, but I'm glad for it. I love how you can whip through a wing of Highmaul in 20 minutes. No more endless wipe fests.

Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) I have a lot of last-minute holiday stuff to do, so I don't think I'll be doing much in the way of playing games this weekend, although I'm tempted to check out Steam's holiday sale. I've only done Highmaul on LFR -- it was remarkably easy, but given that they stated it was going to be, I'm not too concerned about it. I liked the Kargath fight, I kind of want to see that on Normal now, sometime.

Dan O'Halloran (@danoh) I'm finishing up Nagrand on my Monk and will dip my toe into Highmaul LFR after that. I hear it's easier than Heroics which so far have been me face down in the dirt 15 seconds into each boss fight. Also, I'm focusing on pet battles which I've largely ignored since they were introduced. On the bright side, that means visiting beloved vanilla zones again.

Elizabeth Harper (@faience) I've got holiday stuff to wrap up and work to get through before everyone's gone for the holidays, but I'll probably find some time for gaming in between all that. I've been wanting to level my horde paladin through Warlords content to see the other side of things, but she's not quite to 90 yet, so there would be some less-exciting Pandaria grinding there, too, which is probably why I haven't done it already. And Dragon Age is still stealing away a lot of my gaming time... curse you BioWare and your super-addictive RPGs! Because I've been Dragon Age-ing, I haven't hit Highmaul yet, but I'm looking forward to LFR, especially if it's less punishing than heroics.

Matthew Rossi (@MatthewWRossi) I'm playing a beta test of my new WoW eyepatch. That's basically it. And I haven't been in Highmaul yet.

Sarah Pine (@ilaniel) I'm going to work on leveling my alts and jumping into some dungeons. I've been avoiding setting up my UI for healing because it's such a chore, but my guild is going to start raiding again soon so I need to be prepared. That sentence kind of answers your second question, too, doesn't it? No, I haven't been to Highmaul yet, that'll start in the New Year!

The weekend is the perfect time to kick back, relax and enjoy some game time. Are you an achievement junkie? Can't get enough raiding? Rolling a new alt? Considering taking the leap into roleplaying? Whatever your favorite way to play

World of Warcraft, let us know in the comments what you're playing this weekend!
