The Queue: Rise, mountains

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) is answering all kinds of questions today!

It's been a long time since we've seen anything from MrVoletron, but man I would love to see some kind of something done with Tectus and the continual drone of Rise, Mountains. Wouldn't you?

Puntable1 asked:

How do you guys handle Seal of Tempered Fate missions? I always grab my 3 weekly allotted Seals on Tuesday, then if I get a mission for a Seal, it goes to waste unless I can time it to complete on the next Tuesday before it expires.

The Seal you get from the follower mission does not count towards your 3 per week cap. It's essentially a bonus. So if you see that mission pop up, feel free to complete it whenever you want -- it's not going to go to waste unless you happen to already be at the cap of 10 total Seals for your character.

Storyarama asked:

Q4TQ: One of the Garrison monuments is for crafting so many Epic items. What happens when your using a profession that doesn't craft Epic items, such as Alchemy?

You can create a profession building that makes epic items, and craft them through that building -- you'll have to get the building to level three, but it'll work for you.

zirbirt asked:

Ok, what is the proving grounds trick?

If you have to step away from your computer, you can queue up and enter the Proving Grounds. It'll hold your place in line, and when you come back, you can just leave the Proving Grounds and resume waiting right from where you left off. It essentially works as a pause button for the raid queue, so that you don't have to start all over again at the end of the line if you need to go grab a drink or use the restroom.

PhilDGiles asked:

QftQ: So the loading screens that were introduced in Mists of Pandaria of the racial leaders, I thought, were amazing, and I was a little bit disappointed to see some of the art changing in WoD. I was wondering what the name of that artist is, and where I could possibly see more of his work online? I'm an artist myself and I was definitely inspired by his work. Thanks! EDIT: No offense to the new artist, his style works well for comic books. I just thought the first artist's work was more realistic.

That was Wei Wang, who did the image of the faction leaders for the Battlecry promo that ran a few years back. He has a bunch of pieces, both Warcraft and from other media, over on Sons of the Storm.

Chrth asked:

Is anyone else concerned that our miners are no longer having their morning Commune with C'thun? Does it mean that their subjugation is complete?

Their purpose has been fulfilled.

blader4411 asked:

Q4TQ: I was attacked by a Goren in my Level 3 mine today: yet the building description says guards are meant to keep it clear at Level 3? Who should I fire for this security breach?

The goren will randomly spawn when you mine nodes, same as what happens over in the Herb Garden. If you happen to be near a guard, they will help you whack the thing -- and honestly, you kind of want them to spawn, at least every now and again. Those random goren sometimes drop a Battle Pet!

Marcio asked:

Lore Queue for the queue, or Anne if possible: According to the Shadowmoon storyline, after failling to get Karabor destroyed because Velen purified the Dark Star, Ner'zhul and gang run to Shadowmoon Burial Grounds. Question is, without the Dark Star, where do they get their dark powers from?

The Dark Star didn't appear to be the source of Void power on Draenor -- it was more like a key that unlocked the methods of practicing Void magic. For further examples, the Pale have been quietly gibbering away and working with the Void for quite some time now via the naaru out in Nagrand, in Oshu'gun. They didn't leech the power from the darkened naaru, they experienced horrible visions, heard the call of dark whispers and answered that call. I'd have to say that in this case it seems like the darkened naaru are the originators of that type of power -- but once that power is tampered with or mastered, it takes on a life of its own. No generator necessary once the engine has been started.
