Happy Birthday Public Access!

Bring on the fanfare, it's our birthday! That's right -- It was 365 days ago exactly that we published the very first Public Access posts. And what a year we've had! In the past 12 months, Public Access members have published almost 600 articles on everything from virtual reality and 3D printing to gadget reviews and video game nostalgia (and so, so much more).

Here's a look back on the very first stories to hit the Public Access homepage:

Those are the very first three posts to hit the Public Access page: A geek retrospective and screen name confessional penned by Ed Zitron (of EZPR fame), and an ISP haiku by Matt Brown (who never posted again. Wherefore art thou Matt?). If you'd also like to write about growing up geek, or your first screen name, or if you've got the perfect ISP haiku, then check out the Public Access topic suggestions page -- we've re-released all three of these very popular, original assignments!

In order to celebrate in proper Public Access-style, we're throwing ourselves a GIF party. You know the rules: Reply in the comments here with a GIF that expresses your feelings about our anniversary, OR write up a post of birthday wishes for Public Access (and include a GIF, if you're so inclined). Here are some GIFs about how we feel about PA's very first 365 days:

We are really excited about our first year, and we have a lot more in store for Public Access. We'll be in celebration mode all month long so keep your eyes peeled for more anniversary posts, secret topic suggestions, shout outs on social media and a contest to be the next Q&A subject! And thanks for being a part of the Public Access community. We literally couldn't do this without you, so thank you for all your posts, suggestions, ideas, articles, comments and contributions. Happy birthday!
