Map Reveals What Events Your State Actually Cared About This Year
Google Trends streaming data was pulled by the team at West Frontier to determine which major events each U.S. state has cared about streaming most in 2016.
The map indicates that anyone who lives outside of DC, Maine, or Vermont is completely lying when they say they're up-to-date on the latest news in the presidential election.
The data also showed that the Midwest streamed March Madness more than any other region in the U.S., and that Queen Bey has single-handedly taken control of streaming activity in Louisiana and Illinois.
It also appears that the most streamed 2016 events in the nation were the NBA Finals, March Madness, UFC championship fights, and Game of Thrones episodes.
So far this year, our nation cares more about streaming sports and pop culture than streaming important events that could help us determine who the next leader of the free world will be, but it's only June! Maybe we'll buckle down and get a bit more serious in November. There's always hope, right?!
