These new ultra thin TVs are the smart home control hubs you didn’t know you needed

SKYWORTH announces two new big-screen TVs for the US at CES 2020.

At this year's CES, Chinese electronics maker SKYWORTH announced two new giant screen TVs that are capable of becoming the central control hub for all your smart home accessories.

They've gained buzz for the advanced, incredibly thin displays they debuted at the event. Most people don't know that SKYWORTH, valued at US$19 billion, is actually beating its better-known rivals in TV market share in China. Now the company is making its mark globally by bringing these two new premium TVs to U.S. consumers in June 2020.

The "Smart World AIoT" (Swaiot) system is SKYWORTH's vision of the smart home of the future. It includes their TVs acting as the command center to control all the aspects of your smart home environment, like your smart refrigerator, washing machine, or smart lighting.

The two new TVs, the W81 series and the Q91 series, each share certain functionalities like Dolby Vision and HDR 10 while maintaining unique features like a custom-made OLED display, an 8K resolution, or 8K HDMI 2.1 capability that sets them apart.

The W81 Series Wallpaper OLED TV

The W81 Series

This new TV comes in 65" and 77" varieties and features a self-manufactured OLED display. Measuring only 4.6mm at its thinnest point, the W81 series is mind-bogglingly slim, earning its "wallpaper" name.

It attaches to the wall with a sleek magnetic fixture and has an always-on display function.

As the smart home control hub, the W81 Pro model has a 21-inch secondary screen to show information like time, date, weather and updates from your other smart devices. You can use voice commands whether the TV is on or off to control your smart devices. The W81 series can even distinguish between different family members' voices, allowing it to provide more personalized responses to each individual's preferences.

The Swaiot PANEL, an additional device that can be paired with the W81 series, allows you to control your smart home accessories or mirror what's being played on the TV for use around the home. It's powered by SKYWORTH's Swaiot OS.

The W81 series can produce stunning 2.1.2 channel Dolby Atmos audio. SKYWORTH's proprietary Wonder Audio Sky Echo sends sound waves around the viewing space to create an immersive audio experience.
The 65" W81 and 65" W81 Pro will retail for US $3,599 and US $4,599 respectively. Pricing and availability for the 77" W81 Pro will be announced at a later date.

The Q91 Series 8K TV

The Q91 Series

This 75" TV is SKYWORTH's newest entry into the 8K category, and its first 8K TV coming to the U.S. market. The 8K IPS LED screen offers wide viewing angles while the 120Hz refresh rate makes it ultra responsive (great for viewing fast action like sports or video games). The SoC (system on chip) supports 8K hardware decoding for up to 60fps, making 8K picture quality naturally smooth. This, paired with full-array local dimming, makes the Q91 a must for those who obsess over picture quality.

It also has an artificial intelligence powered picture engine that performs complex digital signal processing to upscale lower-quality videos in real time. The 8K AI image processing engine analyzes, identifies, and reconstructs images to improve contrast, color and sharpness.

Like the W81 series, the Q91 series can connect to and control all your smart home enabled devices.

Also like the W81 series, the Q91 series SoundBar can produce 2.1.2 channel Dolby Atmos audio, utilizing SKYWORTH's Wonder Audio Sky Echo technology to send hi-fi sound waves around the viewing space to create an immersive audio experience. The Q91 will retail for US $5,999.
