Giancarlo Valdes

• One of Giancarlo's first big interviews as a reporter was with the rapper Chamillionaire during a tech conference. He still thinks about that moment whenever he hears "Ridin'" on the radio.
• He has traveled all over the world to cover different gaming events, including a stay in Montréal after a huge snowstorm and working in Singapore under strict COVID-related regulations.
• He is addicted to collecting LEGO sets but is constantly frustrated that he doesn't have enough space to display them.

Experience

Giancarlo was a voracious reader of video game magazines as a kid, and it inspired him to embark on a journalism career that has lasted for more than a decade. His stories have appeared in a ton of different publications, including Variety, Playboy, Rolling Stone, and GamesBeat. He also spent some time as an in-house writer at Meta, where he helped with the marketing campaigns for a bunch of Meta Quest VR games. Above all else, Giancarlo loves interviewing creative people and telling their stories in an entertaining way.
