  • New Crowdfunded Gadget The Key To Tracking Everything

Sometimes it's hard to imagine living our lives without all the electronic devices we've grown accustomed to having. This is why it can be so frustrating when we lose or misplace something, which is increasingly easy to do considering how small some devices can be and how scattered our minds can be with so much going on around us. However, the iKON Tracker, a device on the verge of being successfully crowdfunded via an Indiegogo campaign, is the answer to making sure you can locate all of your devices when you need to, ensuring nothing important gets lost ever again. The iKON Tracker is a simple, bluetooth enabled device invented by Australia's Adedayo Charis. It can track the whereabouts of up to 10 items at once, giving users peace of mind and saving you tons of time when something gets misplaced. All you have to do is stick or clip an iKON tracker to any item you can't afford to lose, and you will be able to find it when you need it. For most people, this will mean their phone, wallet, car keys, or other valued electronic devices that get misplaced all too frequently. However, the iKON is also compatible with pets or small children that you may worry about losing while out in public. If you happen to misplace something with an iKON tracker attached, you'll be able to activate both a ringer and LED light on the tracker, leading you right to the item without a problem. The iKON works on items up to 230 feet away, giving you plenty of range. In the event something gets stolen or lost more than 230 feet away, you can alert other iKON users with the crowdFIND function. If the item comes within the 230-feet range of another iKON user, you will be told of its exact GPS location, allowing you to track it down as soon as possible. If you're the forgetful type, you can use the iKON app to create a Geo-fence, meaning you will receive a notification on your smartphone whenever you move beyond the virtual fence without your tagged item. If it's your phone that's gone missing, simply clicking on the iKON tag twice will make your phone ring, enabling you to retrieve it quickly. To be fair, there are several products that are similar to the iKON, and many of are priced comparably, but the iKON tracker does so much more. Other products don't have as much range as the iKON, and most of them don't utilize LED lighting. One thing that other tracking devices don't have is a tracking tag that doubles as a remote control capable of taking selfies, which is arguably the iKON's most distinctive feature. The iKON is also water resistant. With one month to go in the crowdfunding campaign, iKON is already 85% of the way to its goal of $10,000. Fortunately, there are plenty of opportunities still available to contribute to the campaign and be among the first to get your iKON Tracker. Once the crowdfunding campaign ends in September, production will begin in October, and shipping will start in December. Pick up this device and stop worrying about ever losing your valuables again.

  • 4 Ways Technology Is Affecting The Way You Take Selfies

If it sometimes feels like the entire Internet is just one big selfie-taking competition, that's because it is exactly that. This doesn't have to be a bad thing; it's all in good fun, right? The best thing to do is embrace the ever-growing obsession people have with taking safeties, because it's not going away any time soon. In fact, with the latest technologies helping people to take better and more unique selfies, the trend will only continue to grow. Here are four ways that technology has altered the way that we all take selfies. 1. Selfie Sticks This trend has caught on so fast that rules and laws had to be created to make sure it didn't get out of hand. Admittedly, when used in the wrong place or used by a careless person who doesn't think about inconveniencing the people around them, selfie sticks can be a problem. However, when used properly, selfie sticks can allow for wider angle pictures that can fit more people, in addition to taking video that isn't so shaky because the person's hand is constantly moving. Some people may resist selfie sticks, but there's no denying they have enhanced the quality of selfies people take in a number of ways. 2. Selfie Brush This nifty device helps ensure that you always look your best before snapping a selfie. If you haven't seen this contraption, it's exactly how it sounds: a hair brush that also holds your smartphone so you can take a selfie right after brushing your hair. The phone is easy to access whether you're actively taking a selfie or not, but when you've got your hair just the way you want it and given yourself the perfect look, just turn the brush around and snap a photo. It's definitely one of the best pre-selfie gadgets available. 3. Touch-Up Apps There are tons of selfie apps available, and all of them are constantly trying to come up with new and different ways to improve selfies once they've been snapped. Some apps allow you to touch-up photos the way they do in magazines, like improving skin tone or taking out blemishes. It's essentially using Photoshop to give you the most glamorous selfie possible. Meanwhile, other apps are all about being fun and creative, allowing you to alter colors, use crazy special effects, or place celebrity masks on your face. Whatever you prefer to do with these apps, it's all in good fun, and it's giving you an endless number of ways to create unique selfies that will grab people's attention after you post them on social media. 4. Illuminated Phone Case Ask any real photographer, and they'll tell you that lighting is one of the most important aspects of any photograph. Well, the same applies to selfie photography, and now technology is making it possible to have good lighting no matter where you take your selfie. Some of the newest smartphone cases are being designed with LED lights embedded into them, as if your phone is a dressing room mirror with lightbulbs all around the outside. The case can shine its light for two hours at a time, so it's also useful during Skype or FaceTime conversations, but its main purpose is taking selfies. With a smartphone case that's basically a spotlight, no more brilliant selfies will be ruined by poor lighting.

  • Newly Invented Slim Pack Is The Backpack Of The Future

Technology has taken us a long way in recent years, but one thing that hasn't changed is the way we carry all of our new technological tools and gadgets. Yes, there are items specifically designed to hold and carry certain technological tools, but backpack technology has not evolved. Until now, that is. Enter Dave Zuverink, creator of the Slim Pack, which is poised to be the next big thing in backpacks following a KickStarter campaign that has already raised five times its pledged goal. Zuverink is an accomplished entrepreneur who has already run two successful Kickstarter campaigns, most notably the SlimFold wallet. The idea for the Slim Pack came from Zuverink having a list of preferences a mile long for what he wanted in a backpack. When his wife gave him a backpack for Christmas that fulfilled most of his wishes but not all, he still wasn't satisfied. He looked into the problem and discovered that most backpacks are produced by the same factories, giving bags from different brands more similarities than differences. He soon realized that if he was ever going to get the kind of backpack he's always wanted, he would have to create it himself. Zuverink thought about his own wish list for what a backpack should be and also listened to feedback from many of those who bough a SlimFold wallet from him. He took that information and started drawing in his sketchbook, trying to create the ideal backpack. After roughly two years and more than 100 prototypes, the Slim Pack, a backpack designed for commuters, finally became a reality. Just as Zuverink wanted, the Slim Pack is lighter than most modern backpacks, but it is also strong enough to carry everything you need over the course of a day, whether you're going to the office or taking the day off to go on a hike. The bag's main pocket is able to carry a 15'' laptop, while its front pocket is designed to fit an iPad. There is also plenty of room for your other accessories, like your camera or a set of portable speakers. In addition to having the strength to carry everything you need, the Slim Pack is also designed to allow for easy access to the contents of the bag, so you can quickly grab what you need in a flash. The bag includes a padded divider that can be removed so bigger items can fit in the Slim Pack without any issues. Carrying around everything in the bag is easy with the ergonomic shoulder straps that are not only padded for comfort, but that also adjust to you as you move, so the bag will feel comfortable whether you're walking, hiking, or riding your bike. There's even a pocket for your coffee or water bottle, which was one of the many features Zuverink insisted having on his ideal backpack. Finally, much like the SlimFold wallet, the Slim Pack is durable and meant to last. It is made of Soft Shell material that is designed for use with motorcycles, as it is more durable than most types of leather. The material is also eco-friendly, as it's also utilized by some of the most environmentally progressive companies in the apparel industry. Most importantly, the Slim Pack is made of waterproof material, allowing it to withstand even the heaviest of rain storms without causing damage to the items inside. With all that and more, the Slim Pack may very well be the backpack of the future for commuters everywhere.

  • 5 Technological Tools That Changed Marketing Forever

It's utterly amazing how much marketing has changed just in the span of a few years. The advent of new technologies has turned the marketing world upside down in terms of new ways to reach people and in the understanding of what marketing methods are most effective. It's safe to say that with so many new ways to utilize technology, marketing will never be the same again. Here are a few of the technological tools that have had the biggest impact on marketing on recent years. SMS Marketing The best way to contact any person in today's world is via text message, and so the advent of SMS marketing has given companies a better way to get their message in front of prospective customers. Text message advertisements are short and to the point, and because a majority of people are constantly looking at their phones to see if they've received a new text message, there's a high probability that the message will be seen. Companies like Jooks SMS service have proven that SMS marketing is an effective method of getting your seen by as many eyes as possible. Marketing Automation The development of automation has helped streamline the entire process of marketing. This technology can track the progress of a marketing campaign, manage email campaigns, and perform an almost endless list of other functions. The bottom line is that marketing automation makes it easier to put your message in front of people, make connections with potential customers, and learn about the efficiency of a campaign; and that just scratches the service of how automation has affected marketing. Search Engine Optimization The use of SEO has altered the way all companies try to reach customers online. So much of the content on the Internet is written specifically with SEO in mind in the hopes of getting that content to the top of search engines. In fact, without SEO there would not be as much content marketing in the world, nor would there be as many online advertisements crowding each and every website on the Internet. The use of SEO and online advertisements has also led to higher quality content on the Internet due to the competition for space at the top of search engines. Website Re-marketing Re-marketing has been around for quite a few years and was one of the first ways that modern technology made a significant impact on marketing. With re-marketing, online advertisements are prompted by previous sites you've visited and the interests you've shown by your web activity. For some people, these ads can be annoying distractions, but the ability to cater ads to individual users is actually quite impressive, and when it was first instituted, it represented a significant advancement in marketing technology. Social Media The presence of social media may be the biggest difference in the marketing world today compared to past generations. Today, there are entire marketing campaigns centered around reaching people on social media sites. Social media has also become a great way to receive feedback that companies can use to create better marketing campaigns, in addition to being a way to create more personalized marketing. With all of the marketing tactics made possible by social media, almost every company has made an effort to incorporate it into its marketing strategy.

  • 5 Gadgets To Bring On Your Next Working Vacation

Even for those people who truly love their job, there are few things better in life than taking some time off, getting away from work, and going on vacation. Of course, not all of us are lucky enough to be able to put work completely out of our minds or itinerary when we take a trip, leading to what's known as the working vacation. Fortunately, technology has made things easier for us to get work done while on the go, so the next time you begrudgingly take a working vacation, consider taking these gadgets with you. Wifi Router When you travel, you never know where you're going to end up, and while most places have wifi nowadays, you can never be sure, making your own personal wifi router a necessity. If you need to remain in constant contact with your office or with clients, you don't want to take any chances and just assume a hotel, airport, or campground is going to have free wifi. With your own personal router, you'll have all your bases covered and ensure you will be able to work whenever you need to get something done. Portable Battery Charger This can be a lifesaver while you're on vacation and need to get something done. Whether you need to use your phone, tablet, laptop, or some other electronic device to do your work, a portable battery charger can allow you to charge two devices without the use of an outlet. This will enable you to stray far from your hotel room or a coffee shop and actually enjoy your vacation, knowing that if you need to get work done at some point and one or more of your devices needs a charge, you'll be covered. Bluetooth Speaker Having a speaker system to take on vacation is almost as important as any of your electronic devices. After all, if you have to work on vacation, you can at least listen to something you'll enjoy. Some of the top bluetooth speakers on the market these days can connect to multiple devices at the same time while producing excellent sound quality. Some of them are even water resistant, so if you get caught in the rain or spend some time on your vacation sitting poolside, you'll know that your speakers can handle getting splashed. Bluesmart Suitcase How are you going to carry around all the electronic devices you need on your working vacation? Obviously in your Bluesmart carry-on suitcase, which is as high-tech as it gets for a piece of luggage. For starters, there's a GPS sensor in it so you'll be notified if your bag is too far away from you, ensuring the airline won't lose it. There's also a scale to tell you if the bag is overweight for your airline, as well as a digital lock you can control from your phone to ensure nothing can be lost or stolen. On top of all that, there's also plenty of room, with your laptop or tablet fitting into the main compartment, while your charger, router, speakers, and other accessories can fit snug into the bag's other compartments. This bag is also durable and has more than enough space for all the gadgets you need to take on your next working vacation.

  • New Techy Spin On Coffee Press Blowing Up Kickstarter

The coffee world is about to be turned upside down. When seeking a portable coffee press, people often have to make a tradeoff when it comes to the quality of the coffee. But with the Pascal Press, coffee drinkers can have the best of both worlds. The Pascal Press will soon give coffee drinkers a portable coffee press that is fast, durable, cleans up easy, and most importantly, makes a great cup of coffee. Pascal Press is the creation of Alan Kalfbleisch, an avid coffee drinker who grew frustrated with the overly bitter taste of coffee from the current crop of travel presses on the market. Being a thermo-fluid engineer, Kalfbleisch is the perfect person to create a portable coffee press than will revolutionize the coffee industry. What Kalfbleisch envisioned was a press that works fast, makes clean up easy, and produces a delicious cup of coffee free. The result is the Pascal Press, which checks all of those boxes and more. What separates Pascal Press from other portable coffee presses is that it combines full immersion with pressure brewing, forcing the coffee grounds to remain separate from the coffee once they go through the filter. Being able to separate the grounds from the coffee ensures the quality of the coffee, no matter how long it takes you to drink it, which is not something that can be said about other portable pressers. This is made possible by the high quality of the materials used to produce the Pascal Press. Both the flow tube and filter are made of medical-grade stainless steel, which allow for a high-pressure brew in a short period of time and then prevent infiltration by the grounds afterwards. Once you have made the coffee, you have a strong and durable cup that can hold up to 14 ounces of coffee. Both the outer and inner tubes of the Pascal Press are made of copolyester that's free of BPA, a chemical that's found in most plastics. The Pascal Press is insulated to keep your coffee warm, impact resistant to prevent cracking, and leak proof, including the lid. Rest assured, the Pascal Press has the durability to last for many years to come, and all materials made to produce it are FDA approved. When you're finished drinking your coffee, the Pascal Press is easy to clean. With the grounds compressed and separated from the drink, all you have to do is remove the filter with the flow tube and the grounds come right out into the proper receptacle. This makes it easy to avoid a mess while cleaning up, and also makes it easy for you to have a second cup of coffee if you so desire. Kalfbleisch and his team have tested out prototypes of the Pascal Press in the coffee community and it received rave reviews across Canada before the crowdfunding campaign was even launched. It has been praised for its simplicity, taking as little as one minute to brew a cup of coffee, as well as its taste, with one coffee shop owner describing coffee made from it as "clean, crisp, and excellent finish." Pascal Press is the ideal combination of a travel mug and pressure brewer, and it's in the closing stages of a successful Kickstarter campaign, raising nearly $29,000 US with two weeks to go in the effort. Manufacturers are getting set up to make Pascal Press a reality, with production expected to begin early next year. After that, it won't be long until the Pascal Press revolutionizes how coffee drinkers make a cup of their favorite coffee while on the go.

  • 5 Game Changing Gadgets Re-Shaping Restaurants For Good

You may have noticed over the course of the past few years that the act of eating out is not what it used to be. Technology has nearly taken over the food industry with a variety of gadgets that can make the dining experience more efficient or more enjoyable for both customers and businesses. There are way too many to name, but here are five of the coolest technological gadgets you can find in the restaurant industry today. Touch Screen Food Vendors You've probably seen at least a few of these around in recent years. The most common touch screen food vendor is with soda fountains that give you dozens of different options in a matter of seconds when it comes to your beverage choice. You can mix and match different drinks together with a variety of additional flavors, giving you so many choices that it's almost overwhelming. The same can be done with ice cream, giving consumers an almost-endless list of flavors at their fingertips. The presence of touch screen food vendors should continue to grow in the years to come, as they are a great fit for cafeterias, fast food places, and other establishments where customers can pour their own beverages. LED Alert Systems This one is more for people behind the scenes, but it does have an impact on the customers. When kitchen restaurants get crazy, an LED alert system can let everyone know when time sensitive chores are complete, so the kitchen staff can respond right away. The lighting can be done in a way that doesn't interfere with the dining area, so that customers will be none the wiser. However, when the hectic kitchen runs smoother and customers are served faster, they'll notice the difference. TouchBistro This iPad-based point-of-sale system is helping restaurants all over the place streamline productivity, making them far more efficient at taking orders and serving customers. It's easy for employees to use and can be adapted to just about any business, whether it's a food truck, nightclub, or upscale restaurant. Tableside Ordering System Some restaurants, including a few major chains, have started to install tablets on tables where customers can simply input their orders whenever they're ready. This doesn't completely do away with the need to have a waitress, as someone still has to deliver your food to you, but it does simplify and expedite the ordering process. Ordering through a tablet is no different than placing an online order, which most of us can do by now, except you're already at the restaurant. With a tablet at the table, you can order as soon as you can sit down, so you get your order faster, while the restaurant can get more people in and out, ultimately giving them more business. Tablet Wine List Having a full wine or beer list on a tablet has to be one of the best parts of dining out in today's world. Restaurants can update them better than paper lists, so you don't have to worry about finding something you like only to hear that the restaurant ran out. The tablets can also hold a great deal of interesting and useful information about each wine offered, which can help with your decision or just keep you entertained. Once you go to a restaurant that has their wine list on a tablet, you'll wonder how you ever survived a meal without it.

  • 5 Technologies That Are Making Driving Safer

When most of us think about the merging of driving and technology, we probably envision built-in cameras, smart phones and GPS devices that can easily cause drivers to become distracted and less safe behind the wheel. Of course, all of that is true and you should always avoid those types of distractions, but technology is not necessarily the enemy of safe driving. In fact, there are several new technologies that can go a long way towards making you a safer driver. The first form of technology that true road warriors should know about is the drowsiness video sensor. For those who are accustomed to long road trips or driving late at night after a long day at work, this device has a sensor that can detect signs of drowsiness on your face. If the dashboard monitor thinks that you're close to drifting off to sleep, it will make either noises or tug on your seat belt to help you stay awake. It will even advise you to pull over if it's unsafe for you to be driving. Another fantastic technology developed for cars in recent years has been the blind-spot alert. These days roads get so congested that it's common for other vehicles to be hiding out in your blind spot without you realizing it. But with special sensors already accompanying most newer models, you'll be warned when another car is in your blind spot. Brake assistance is yet another relatively new technology that has become incredibly popular in newer makes and models. Studies show that drivers not braking quickly enough is a significant factor in car accidents. That's now less of a concern as new modern-day advances allow radars and cameras to recognize panic-braking situations. On such occasions, the full braking force of the car automatically kicks in, literally doing everything in the car's power to stop in time and prevent an accident. If you're a driver who can't seem to put away all the technological distractions on your own volition, phone suppression technology is a must. There are a variety of devices for you to choose, but if you're easily distracted, you have to pick up one of them. Most of them have the power to screen incoming calls and text messages, and may even let you know who is calling so you don't have to look at your phone and take your eyes off the road. Some of the phone suppression systems will even send a reply text automatically to inform the other person that you're currently driving, which is a great way to prevent you from the unsafe practice of texting and driving. Finally, there's a way that technology can force you to become a better driver. There are gadgets that can be installed in your car that will monitor your driving habits in terms of breaking and acceleration, as well the time of day that you drive. This data gets evaluated and can actually be used to give you a discount on your car insurance. The device can't be used to increase your car insurance, so there's no downside to using the device; it simply gives you an incentive to be a safer driver.

  • 5 Gadgets To Take On Your Next Trip

For many of us, there's nothing better than getting out of town, exploring a new place, and seeing what life has to offer. Of course, traveling today is quite different than what it was like as few as five or 10 years ago. With technology, there are countless gadgets and gizmos that can make traveling even easier and more enjoyable than it was in the past. Wherever you go and however you plan on getting there, here are five gadgets that will be perfect to take with you on your next trip. Travel Router Traveling doesn't have to mean going off the grid, and as long as you bring a travel router with you, you'll always have a WiFi signal. Most hotels and airports offer wireless, but some of them charge you for it and the signal isn't always that strong or reliable. With a travel router, you won't have to worry about any of that or check ahead to see if there'll be service wherever you're going to be. Instead, everywhere you go you're assured there'll be a WiFi hotspot, so you can always stay connected to the world. Smart Luggage You're obviously not going anywhere without packing a bag, and the next time you take a trip you'll want to pack everything into the latest luggage. Today's suitcases not only store all your personal items, but they come with a smart lock connected to your phone, so there's no chance of someone taking your stuff if you lose it (or the airlines loses it). The bag also has an internal battery that you can use to charge all of your electronic devices, so the next time you have a long layover, you won't have to worry about your phone or laptop battery going dead. VR Camera If you're traveling, you'll definitely want to capture each and every moment so you can remember your trip forever, and the best way to do that is with a VR camera. Not only is the picture quality of these cameras amazing, but they can also capture everything around you, all 360 degrees. You'll be able to take both stills and video, and afterwards it's easy to share everything you've seen with everyone you know, and because the picture quality is so high, anyone who sees your photos and videos will feel like they're right there with you, almost. GPS Fitness Watch For those who want to feel like they're lost in the great outdoors but still know the way back home, a GPS fitness watch is the perfect gadget. Whether you go hiking deep into the forest or are just exploring a city you've never been before, you'll always know where you are with the GPS tracking system. But that's the least of what the watch can do for you. It can track how far you've walked, monitor your heart rate, and even store up to 500 songs that you can hear on wireless headphones, so wherever you go you'll know where you are and you'll have a soundtrack of your favorite songs to accompany you. E-Reader This has become standard for most travelers, but it should not be forgotten. There are plenty of options to choose from, and the latest models of e-readers have longer-lasting batteries and screens that can cut down on glare, making them well worth the investment.

  • Dashboard Gadget Alerts Drivers Of Speed Traps and Hazards

The next generation of on-the-road technology is here, and it's called TrapTap. TrapTap is a small device that's placed on a car dashboard and linked to the driver's cell phone through an app that will alert the drivers of speed traps and several other driving hazards. The high-tech gadget keeps you from getting an expensive traffic ticket in a number of ways, and it costs less than an old school radar detector. Those two key benefits are why the crowdfunding campaign for the device has been a huge hit so far. TrapTrap let's you know when you're speeding using a simple green light. The only way to make the light go away, is to slow down to a more reasonable speed. As long as you pay attention and follow the indicator, you'll spare yourself a costly traffic ticket or a dangerous accident. The device will also alert you whenever you enter a speed trap, a school zone, or pass through a traffic light that takes pictures of cars running red lights. The device has all of these locations mapped out in dozens of different countries. Instead of these locations sneaking up on drivers and putting you at risk of a costly traffic ticket, the TrapTap will start blinking and you'll be able to slow down before it's too late. What's cool about that is that drivers who discover speed traps and school zones that aren't yet in the system can update it, immediately helping out other drivers. Just a couple of taps of the device will put a new speed trap into the map, immediately alerting other drivers. There's nothing like a community helping each other out. What helps separate TrapTap from radar detectors and similar devices is that TrapTap is not a distraction to drivers. All it does is sit in front of you on the dashboard, where you're looking anyway, so you don't have to keep taking your eyes off the road to check it. When it starts lighting up, you'll be able to notice it instantly and respond in the appropriate manner. You don't have to keep checking it worried that you'll missing something the way you do with other navigation apps, which have the potential to cause more harm than good. Finally, TrapTap is something you can take with you everywhere you, unlike other apps or systems that may be built right into the car. If you drive multiple cars, need to switch cars at the last minute, or are driving a rental car, TrapTap can go with you, so you know you'll always have it no matter what. In fact, the gadget is so small and portable that it's even compatible with motorcycles, so motorcycle riders can share in all the benefits that TrapTap has to offer. Between the safety, convenience, and features of TrapTap, it's truly at the cutting edge of on-the-road technology. There are almost-endless benefits to using it with no downside, and if it prevents you from receiving just one traffic ticket, it will be well worth the investment.
