The second official beta of XBMC 12 "Frodo" is ready for testing, and if you've been waiting to move up from the nightlies you finally can -- as long as it meets a few requirements, like supporting Neon processor code (most HTC and Samsung devices do). There's a compatibility list of devices known to work, although there are known issues with Android 4.2 that won't be addressed until Beta 3. Also improved in this version is support for the Xbox 360 controller, no matter what platform you're using it on, along with some audio fixes and other tweaks. Hit the source link for the full list of updates or just go straight to the download page if your media device can't wait.

Continuing in the time-honored tradition set by the likes of Fedora 10 and Fedora 11, Fedora 12 (codenamed "Constantine"). With this release comes improvements in the realms of webcam support, video codec, audio, security and power management, as well as "bluetooth on demand" and some virtualization enhancements. The only thing absent for the devout Linux fan? A fun alliteration like Karmic Koala. Missed opportunity, if you ask us.

It's probably best to think of Samsung's Pixon 12 not as a phone with a killer camera, but more so as a good point-and-shoot with phone capabilities tacked on. Our friends at Engadget Chinese managed to get some hands-on with the device, and while they say the voice and SMS portion is nothing to write home about, the form factor and AMOLED screen seems quite nice and the sample pictures come out even nicer. Hit up the read link for some odd, machine-translated text and pretty photography.

Based on information stripped from Japanese mag Famitsu, the Final Fantasy XII spinoff game Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings for the DS is to be under the watchful eye of Motomu Toriyama. Toriyama, who's past projects included Final Fantasy X-2 and is also currently working on the upcoming PS3 game Final Fantasy XIII, will be joined by another series veteran in Ryuma Itou, who worked on Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Itou will be in charge of the art direction. The game's story is to feature two main characters in Vaan and Penelo, 18 years old and 17 years old respectively. They share a common dream of being sky pirates (they totally beat ninjas) and the game's story will focus heavily on the two characters. Also, it is said that the game will feature all of the airships from Final Fantasy XII and a battle system that utilizes the touch screen.
