Cataclysm Millionaire is the newest video from the AFKplayers. It's a longer video, clocking in at over 10 minutes long. However, the time is incredibly, totally worth it. The graphics and animation in Cataclysm Millionaire are absolutely amazing, and the whole thing is beautiful to watch. No matter how bad the world gets, there's one thing that can bring the diverse people of Azeroth together: money. In this game show, a half-dozen heroes from the Horde and Alliance get together to compete for big bucks. The questions might surprise you; some of the trivia presented in this video can be surprisingly difficult. And the video includes a crying Lor'themar, so that's always a good thing. In a world where the battle between the Horde and the Alliance is fought out in grueling games of Capture the Flag and King of the Hill, the AFKPlayers are back with a believable and entertaining new battleground. Check out their new machinima, Major League Azeroth. This new video by the Taiwanese AFKPlayers manages to tie in both tongue-in-cheek comedy and some fun shots of the mysterious new raid instance, Ulduar. Brann Bronzebeard makes a guest appearance during the film, and ultimately is responsible for the game's outcome.Part of what I love so much about MLA is the firm understanding AFKPlayers show about the WoW community zeitgeist. Cracks and references about King Wrynn mirror things I've said in my own Guild chat. When a Death Knight steps up to bat, the authors issue subtle nods to things we all think about the new class.Even without subtitles, though, "Major League Azeroth" is fun to watch. It's got a clean, crisp animation style which makes the action easy to understand. The scenery is very well composed, and the character models are built without distracting elements. The AFKPlayers have stuck to their basic storytelling roots here, and let us enjoy their dialogue, plot, and raw comedy.Be sure to check out Major League Azeroth on the Myndflame site.

You already know that World of Warcraft is a global phenomenon, but did you know that machinima is international too? This show is by AFK Pl@ayers, a group of Taiwanese machinima makers who have done some quality work and earned an exalted reputation in Taiwan. It pokes fun at those "best movie of the week" countdowns that you sometimes see on entertainment shows with a hip young host getting excited and showing you the latest trailers. Most of it is in Chinese with English subtitles, but you'll be happy to see that one of the movies they show a trailer for is actually in English! Personally, I think this is classic, but I hope you all don't mind subtitles too much. English-speakers are truly lucky to have so much great media produced in our own language, whereas other countries are used to watching dubbed or subtitled Hollywood films all the time. You may not be able to understand Chinese, but I think you may get a sense of their emotions from the tones of voice they use when they talk -- their Chinese voice acting is excellent, and their little bit of English acting is quite good too, considering it's their second language!Previously on WoW Moviewatch...
