The wolf is among iOS today
Telltale's The Wolf Among Us is set to launch today on iOS. The game's first episode, titled "Faith," will cost $4.99, while a pass for the game's entire season will be priced at $14.99, Touch Arcade reported. The latest trailer for the game notes that it will also arrive "soon" on PlayStation Vita. The Wolf Among Us' first episode launched in mid-October on Xbox 360 and PC. The series is based on Bill Willingham's Fables comic series, guiding the werewolf-like Sheriff Bigby through a section of New York City known as Fabletown. Our review of the episode found the game to be a "perfect beginning" to Telltale's new series, and it made us "invested in protecting these curious creatures from our storybooks."
Telltale's The Wolf Among Us commences October 11
The first episode of Telltale's The Wolf Among Us will launch this Friday, October 11 on Xbox 360 and PC. Telltale says it is still confirming the game's PS3 release date, which is "expected to be just a few days after the initial Xbox 360 and PC releases go live." The game has players guiding Sheriff Bigby through a section of New York City called Fabletown. The five-episode season is based on Bill Willingham's Fables comic book series, which features numerous characters from fairy tales and their struggles. The Wolf Among Us' episodes cost $4.99 each. Players can purchase a season pass on Xbox Live granting access to all episodes for $14.99 – but that's in addition to the $4.99 cost of the first episode. The season can also be pre-purchased on Steam for 10 percent off ($22.49) until the first episode hits on Friday.
The Wolf Among Us opens pre-orders, launches this month
Telltale's next episodic adventure, The Wolf Among Us, will launch sometime this month. Steam has opened up pre-orders for 10 percent off the full season price of $25. Or, if you want a bonus end-of-season DVD, you can order The Wolf Among Us directly through Telltale's site. Based on the Fables comic book series created by Bill Willingham, The Wolf Among Us stars the Big Bad Wolf, known here as Bigby. He is the reluctant sheriff of Fabletown, a section of modern-day New York City home to wayward Fables seeking refuge from their magical world. The Wolf Among Us will have five episodes in total and has been announced for Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Mac.
Telltale's first Fables episode due in Q1 2012
Telltale's adaptation of the Fables comic book series is expected to debut in the first quarter of 2012, the developer announced during a press event last night. Like The Walking Dead project, the Fables games are part of a mult-year, multi-title deal. At the event, Telltale SVP of marketing, Steve Allison, took special care to note that the developer would "pay homage to the comics as they are written" and that we would encounter more details at Comic-Con this summer. Fables, created by Bill Willingham, follows various fictional characters, from folklore and fairy tales, that have been excommunicated from their realm and forced to live in New York City. Snow White, Pinocchio and the Three Bears are among the familiar characters depicted in the celebrated comic book series.
