Hacha, makers of the familiar looking PA20 and PC20, is apparently planning to unleash the players on the world in the very near future. According to reports, the two PMPs will be hitting shelves sometime around September 22nd (or earlier), though right now we've only got those words to hang on. If you'll recall, the $175 PA20 (pictured) is a 3.2-inch, touchscreen media player, with 4GB of memory, the ability to play tons of media formats (MP3, AVI, XviD, WMA, WAV, APE, FLAC), and a microSD expansion slot for an additional 4GB of storage. The $170 PC20 has all the same features, though its 3-inch screen isn't touch-sensitive, and it totally rips off the iPhone's design. Go figure. Both are available for pre-order right now from the Hacha "fan" website.

We asked, and now we know the specifications of Hacha's ultrathin PC20 PMP, as well as its slightly larger PA20 cousin. The third inch thick PC20 features a 3.0-inch QVGA screen, comes in 1, 4, and 8 GB flavors, and supports a list of audio and video formats including AVI Xvid, FLV, WMA, and MP3. It'll also play games, record audio, and playback FM radio. The PA20 has a 3.2-inch screen, measures just under half an inch thick, and comes with all the PC20's features bar the video games. Unfortunately, there's still no shipping or pricing information as yet.

Although the amount of iPhone knockoffs flying out of foreign ports has died down substantially over the past few weeks, we can't help but note the resemblance between Apple's handset and Hacha's latest PMP. Of course, we're not kvetching about the ultrathin enclosure and expansive three-inch screen, but we sure wish we knew a bit more about its mysterious internals. Still, it ought not be too long of a wait before final details are loosed, but click on through for an alternate shot in the meantime.[Via TheMP3Players]

  • Hacha's R280 DAP holds 8GB of flash with style

You know, China ain't just about cheap knockoffs of visible brands. There's a good bit of innovation going on over there, especially in the DAP space, with players like Meizu almost beating Apple at its own game, and now Hacha doing a bit of a iriver thing with its new R280 player, but doing it quite well. Developed in conjunction with the world's largest NOR Flash provider, Spansion, the R280 boasts 8GB of flash memory, miniSD expansion and a 2.83-inch QVGA screen. Under the hood there's a 240Mhz ARM processor, which has DSP and Java acceleration built in, and 16MB of SRAM, expandable to 128MB, giving the player enough juice to run Adobe Flash and Java apps with future firmware upgrades. Plus, with 30 hours of battery during audio playback and 5 hours for video, the 0.4-inch thick player doesn't do bad for itself at all in that department. It sounds like Hacha's "Just Myself!" tag line is quite the compliment. No word on price or availability, though we should see it in China before it the end of the year -- now we've just gotta figure out how to sneak one into the States.[Via The MP3 Players]
