While you may never get that Halo movie your parents promised you, Halo Waypoint is doing its best to bring you all sorts of Halo goodies that are, at the very least, movie-like. First, the Halo Legends anime series, then Midnight in the Heart of Midlothian, and now Halo: The Return, a four-part motion comic series based on the short story of the same name in last year's Halo Evolutions book. The first episode debuted last Saturday but will remain free to watch, only through Waypoint. We've got the trailer for this Saturday's Part 2 above, so be sure to make a note in your Master Chief-themed day planner.

It's been a while since the Halo: Evolutions story collection was announced. Now, just a month away from its November 24 launch, Tor Books has revealed both the book's cover art and all of the authors who will contribute to the compilation. Contributing to the book will be John Goff, Frank O'Connor and Kevin Grace of 343 Industries, as well as authors B.K Evenson, Jeff Vandermeer, Tessa Kum and Fred Van Lente. As previously announced, Eric Nylund, Tobias Buckell and Karen Traviss will also be penning stories for the book. Tor editor Eric Raab promises the collection will appeal to "every kind of Halo fan from straight up action with the Master Chief to glimpse [sic] into the Elite mindset post Halo 3" and will also delve into characters like Cortana, the Gravemind and Admiral Cole. One thing's for sure: If you like teabagging and reading, this book is for you. Click the book cover to the right to check out a Spartan-sized version.

We know what you're thinking. "Sure, I like how much of my life is devoted to keeping track of the different Halo properties, but if there were just one more, just a single other thing I could add to the pile, my life would really be complete."Tor Books answers the call today with Halo: Evolutions, featuring a number of new short stories from authors like Halo novelists Eric Nylund and Tobias Buckell, and Karen Traviss, who wrote Gears of War: Jacinto's Remnant. We're assuming F.X. Nine was otherwise occupied. The book, which features "a wide variety of tales set across the span of the Halo universe," will arrive this November 24.
