Our favorite blogger in China, Maik Lutze of SuddenlyBeijing.com, has provided TUAW with exclusive photos from the official Chinese iPhone 4 launch this morning (9/25). Not only were there lines for the iPhone 4, but there was a new Apple Store being opened in Beijing at Xidan's Joy City today, so he provided photos of the crowds on had for the opening: %Gallery-103229% This is the second Apple Store in Beijing, the first being the Sanitun store. Maik provided a batch of photos for TUAW of the iPhone 4 lines at this store as well: %Gallery-103230% The second Apple retail location in Shanghai also opened today. The new Huaihai Lu Apple Store is a two-story structure with the only curved window front of any Apple Store. Apple is really booming in the Chinese market, with a third Beijing store planned for Qianmen Street that will open this fall. The iPhone 4 may be launching on all the major Canadian carriers tomorrow, but we're only just now starting to get the actual details on what they'll be offering. Rogers is the first out of the gate and, for a change, it looks like folks in the US may just be a tad jealous of their northern neighbors. It's not only offering the iPhone 4 for a further discounted price -- $159 for the 16GB and $269 for the 32GB on a three-year contract (for both new and existing customers eligible for a hardware upgrade) -- but it's bringing back its 6GB data plan for $30 a month as well. On top of that, Rogers is also offering a new iPad sharing plan that will let you share those 6GB between the two devices for an extra $20 a month. Still no official word from the other carriers, but MobileSyrup has turned up a leak that suggests Bell will be offering 6GB for $30 as well, and iPad sharing for just $10 a month -- although that's yet to be confirmed. We'll keep you posted as more plans are announced. Update: Bell just flipped the switch, and their numbers are largely the same with one notable exception -- iPad data sharing is an additional $10 a month instead of $20, just as had been rumored. Thanks, everyone!

Earlier today we caught up with Map My Run's CEO Robin Thurston at the Cherry Creek Apple Store while waiting to buy an iPhone 4. He was gracious enough to chat with us for a few minutes about his company, his apps and the company's plans for iOS 4. Map My Run lets users track their workouts. It uses the iPhone's GPS functions to trace your route and monitor your progress towards your fitness goals. A cool new feature lets you broadcast your runs to your friends while you're running. Neat! Thanks to Robin chatting with us. You can watch the interview above.

  • iPhone 4 launch: Updates from iPhone 4 lineups

Customers are lined up across the country and sending reports and photos to our @ask_tuaw Twitter stream. Here are a few of the more interesting tidbits we've received. Standing in line As we predicted, the iPhone 4 lines are typically much longer than the iPad lineups were. The Garden State Plaza Apple Store in Paramus, New Jersey closed the non-reservation line (What Chris Breen is calling the "Pray for a Miracle Line") around 9:20 AM. The Biltmore Apple Store's line in balmy Phoenix, Arizona had wrapped around the store by 6:30 AM local time. Meanwhile, in Oklahoma City, the reservation line was longer than non-res. Twice as long, in fact. Keeping them happy Several readers are reporting that Apple Store employees are providing food and drinks to patient customers. In Reno, Nevada, workers are distributing coffee and donuts. Apple Store Crossgates in Albany, NY is also providing breakfast. Photos We're getting a lot of snapshots from Twitter. In Lancaster, PA, you can't even see the store from the back of the line. The same is true in Louisville, Kentucky, New York's Soho, and Austin, Texas. Finally, I must give a shout-out to my fellow New Englanders in Salem, New Hampshire. What's your experience been today? Let us know at @ask_tuaw. Have fun and good luck!

  • Woz gives kid a ride to overnight iPhone line

It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway: You gotta love Woz. Apple's co-founder Steve Wozniak is well known for making himself extremely accessible to his fans and admirers. We're sure he can get his hands on any gizmo he wants. Despite this, he waits in lines and hangs out with fellow Apple fans. When the iPad launched, Steve lined up for his tablet and in the process got to know Parth Dhebar, creator of Simple Reviews. Parth is a high school student and when he needed a ride to the iPhone 4 line, Woz picked him up. The pair joined the rest of the customers who were camping out, where Woz signed autographs, talked with fans and drove his Segway around the empty mall (does he go anywhere without that thing?). Sounds like fun! Do you have an interesting line story or set of photos? Send them to our @ask_tuaw twitter stream. Thanks!

Reader David Platt is waiting in line for an iPhone 4 like so many others this morning. He sent in some photos from the South Park Apple Store in Charlotte, North Carolina. David tells us that he arrived in line at 5:30 AM and found "...a little under 1,000 people in line." Wow. When you look at the gallery, note that the line stretches through the parking garage. David says that about 150 people were let in at a time. At least you're under cover, Charlotte! It's raining elsewhere.

  • iPhone 4 lineup starts in Texas

Don't mess with Texas. Especially Dallas resident Justin Wagoner. He's the first in line for an iPhone 4 at Apple Store Knox Street. For those of you who just glanced at your calendar, you're right. He's a week early. Calling himself "...a very determined fan," Justin has been posting about his residency on Knox Street on the Macrumors Forums. Inside his tent he's got sleeping gear, a chair, food and drinks and power for his devices. He says that the Apple Store staff have been treating him "like a king." I'm not surprised. When I was in line for an iPad in Boston (only a few hours for me), the staff at the Boylston Street Store were cheering for Miles, our line's leader. Before you call Justin crazy, remember that a few New Yorkers lined up for the 3G iPhone and the original iPhone a week ahead of time. Here's hoping Justin enjoys his week's "vacation" and, more importantly, his new iPhone 4. [Via MacDailyNews]
