Don't ask me why I was Googling for karaoke systems that worked specifically with the iPod today, but I was. I found some. The doPi Karaoke appears to do everything I want it to do, including showing the lyrics on the screen of my video iPod. The doPi Karaoke System (doPi is iPod backwards, btw) comes with a converter, a mic, all the cables you need and a song card that gets you your first three sing-alongs for free. After that you'll pay $1.99 for each song, and the download library is still a bit anemic, but it should get better with time. Just download the songs, dump them into iTunes, sync up your iPod, get good and drunk and then go crazy! It's only $60 so it won't break the bank, leaving you with enough cash to get your spouse/kids/pets/neighbors/co-workers some earplugs.
