  • Kane & Lynch gets new, mullet-rich trailer

A new trailer has been released for Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, a title we've come to think of first and foremost as "that game with the really stylish advertising." The worst part? We're still susceptible to it, thanks to the video's irresistible combination of the three Ms: murder, mayhem and a mullet.Seriously, look at that thing. Lynch (possibly Kane) is a real "business up front, party out back" sort of guy. Our eyes are only occasionally drawn away from the mullet by Kane's (possibly Lynch's) Breathe Right strip, and usually you couldn't pry our eyes away from those things with a crowbar. Oh, before we forget, this video contains another "M": mature language. So you probably shouldn't watch it at work if your boss is offended by profanity ... or, you know, mullets.

You may recall the German Kane & Lynch: Dead Men trailer we posted yesterday. If you happen to speak English, then we have good news for you, the trailer has been released (in English) on Xbox Live Marketplace (it's also embedded at the top of this post, because we love you). Yes, now you can enjoy the trailer in both English and high definition goodness. The trailer focuses on Lynch, the long-haired, heavily medicated psycho. We've been intrigued by Kane & Lynch ever since we first laid eyes on it, so here's hoping there are more details coming our way.Note: This trailer contains loads of blood, guts, and foul language. Definitely NSFW.

It's been a while since we've heard anything about Eidos' Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, so we are all over this new trailer. There is one little caveat though: it's in German. It's okay though, because, as we all know, wanton destruction is the real universal language. Honestly, could there be anything better than a man with anger issues teaming up with a highly medicated psycho? Well, no, obviously the answer is no. We think that's perfectly clear. Give the trailer a watch and tell us what you think.

  • Unlikely Kane & Lynch director under consideration

Just a scant few weeks after announcing a director for Hitman -- the other movie adaptation of an IO Interactive developed game -- details have leaked to in-the-know movie news site Ain't it Cool News on the movie version of Kane & Lynch: Dead Men. Apparently Uwe was busy, Paul W. S. Anderson couldn't make it and Xavier Gens is busy working on the Hitman movie and contemplating licensing his name out to people with decidedly less cool ones. So, who's rumored to be directing the K&L project? Jieho Lee. Exactly, we don't know who he is either but he apparently made a film that's been getting some praise. AICN writes, "They're not going for a music video or commercial director first off ... I guess that speaks to the strength of the story ... or the deepness of Lionsgate's pockets. One or the other." Since the game isn't out yet, and they've been keeping the plot details under wraps, we don't know about the strength of the story but we're not anticipating greatness.

  • Kane & Lynch: Dead Men gets multiplatform launch on PS3, 360, and PC

First Eternal Sonata pops up on the ESRB's site as a multiplatform Xbox 360 and PS3 title, now the previously Xbox 360 and PC title, Kane & Lynch: Dead Men is going multiplatform as well. Gamesindustry.biz reports that publisher SCi has decided to release Kane & Lynch, along with Crossfire, simultaneously on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Of course, we first saw hints of a PS3 release when K&L was listed on an Atari Australia release schedule -- no word yet on those PS2 and PSP versions. But with a movie in the works, and Eidos' fears of a low PS3 penetration rate, they may still be a possibility. Kane & Lynch is scheduled to be released simultaneously on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC "in time for Christmas" 2007.[Thanks, v1cious]

  • Lionsgate takes Kane & Lynch to the movies

Involving itself in an ever-growing web of Hollywood shenanigans, Variety reports that Eidos has sold the movie rights to Kane & Lynch to Lionsgate. The Michael Mann inspired buddy-shooter should be making its way to the Xbox 360 and PC platforms by the end of the year; however, the film is quite a ways off. Adrian Askarieh and Daniel Alter will be producing Kane & Lynch, though they are currently involved with two other game-based productions. The duo was already working on another Eidos property (and probable spin-off to Kane & Lynch), Hitman, while their other project, The Rock's Spy Hunter: Nowhere to Run, has languished in pre-production hell since before the ill-fated game ever came out.So while we've been spared from the clutches of Dr. Uwe Boll this time, the chances of seeing Kane & Lynch on the big screen anytime soon are looking fairly slim.

  • Kane & Lynch sighted for PS3, PS2, PSP (down under)

According to an Atari Australia release schedule, versions of Kane & Lynch: Dead Men could be headed to PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, and PSP. Officially, IO Interactive's tactical shooter has only been confirmed for Xbox 360 and PC. Eidos, which owns IO Interactive, is the game's primary publisher (not Atari). What Kane & Lynch is doing on an Atari release list is unclear, but it's possible Atari will publish the title in Australia.Atari recently announced it would be publishing Eidos' Battlestations: Midway in Australia; perhaps another collaboration is in the works for Kane & Lynch. If so, Atari might have let slip the existence of various PlayStation versions of the game. Or, it could just be a typo.[Thanks, Bruce; via Future Gamez]

  • Kane and Lynch on PSP?

Future Gamez is reporting that Atari Australia's release schedule listed Kane & Lynch: Dead Men as not just a PC and Xbox 360 game, but also for PS3, PS2 and most importantly, PSP. The game is due out June 2007 and features (at least on home consoles) co-op play with two characters. One is a morally challenged mercenary and the other is a pill popping psychopath. If this listing is more than just a mistake, it could mean great things for PSP fans. The game is developed by Io Interactive, creators of Freedom Fighters and the Hitman franchise. This game was a must buy for me on the Xbox 360 and if it comes out for the PSP as well, I'm such an Io Interactive fan that I'll likely buy both. [Via DCEmu]

Those wonderful boys at Xboxyde have posted the Kane & Lynch trailer that hit Marketplace this morning. Now this is how you make a trailer. Let's just put it this way, if it was a movie, we'd watch it. Ubisoft Eidos is making it clear that story telling is going to play a big role in this generation. Let's just hope that the gameplay lives up to it.Update:Oops. It's Eidos not Ubisoft.

  • Hitman creators working on new IP: Kane and Lynch: Dead Men

In case you don't own the August issue of Game Informer, Eidos let it be known today that the twisted minds of the Hitman franchise were currently working on a new game called Kane and Lynch: Dead Men -- which will see a 2007 launch for the Xbox 360 and PC. Game Informer described the game as "basically a third-person action game ... with a full co-op play option, intuitive squad tactics, and a hearty online multiplayer component." Only two images have been released thus far, but by the sound and look of it, it seems to be a game much like the anticipated Army of Two by Electronic Arts. We love the idea of Army of Two, so the fact that others are thinking along the same lines is quite a bonus. Check out the other image after the break.
