Google has launched two new Live case lines for its Pixel phones that come with their own live wallpapers, and one of them's a lot more relaxing than the other. The Google Earth Live cases feature beaches, ice formations and other beautiful photos of our planet taken from the company's satellite imagery. While each case matches a specific Google Earth photo, their live wallpaper changes everyday using a rotation of curated images from the program. You'll also find a shortcut button on the home screen that you can tap to explore the specific location currently shown on your screen.

Today Google introduced $35 custom Live Cases for the Nexus 6P and 5X. Artsy folks can design a case and companion wallpaper for their phone with their favorite image or map location. In addition to looking pretty, the cases ship with a programmable short cut button so you can launch an app without swiping around on your phone's screen.

Before you dismiss this as a slow-day news post, hear us out: these aren't your run-of-the-mill phone cases. These are the first products Google has released under its new Editions project, a series of collaborations with artists to develop limited edition "live cases" for select Android phones. For this batch, Mountain View worked with electronic dance music producer/DJ Skrillex, who designed an outer space-inspired set. Now, here's the cool part: in keeping with the space theme, the products come with live wallpapers showing images of the Earth from the stratosphere during the day and constellations visible from your location at night. The tech giant actually launched a high-altitude balloon named after Skrillex's dog Nanou to capture images of our planet and didn't just take images from NASA.
