Yep, we've shocked the ol' column back to gasping life. The good kind of reanimation, though, not the kind you're probably killing in Northrend.Wow, this took ages. We got a lot of standout questions while doing Ask A Beta Tester, and I went through all of them trying to pick out the best, funniest, most helpful, or most unintentionally prescient among them. To be perfectly frank, we had so many that I started splitting them into separate articles. I've eliminated the questions that I expect readers will probably have answered for themselves at this point (e.g. Death Knight starting faction reputation) but kept all of the questions that I'm pretty sure are still relevant to the first week of gameplay in Wrath. I've also made a few additions and updates based on what we saw both in the beta and now on the live realms. I hope you guys enjoy reading these as much as we did answering them.I'm going to start off with the earliest series of questions that Elizabeth Harper and Alex Ziebart took in July and August. To round out the rest of AABT's best in the next few days, we'll keep moving through August, September, October, and up to the very end of AABT.

  • MP5 replaced by Spirit on Druid Arena S3 gear [Updated]

Resto4life is reporting on a fairly significant change to the Arena season 3 gear on the PTR with Patch 2.3. Evidently the previous mana regen stat MP5 is being tossed over for Spirit, and this has some players howling. Now, I know there is some debate as to the utility of Spirit for priests in a PvE setting, but as they mention in the article, there appears to be little use for it at all in Arena PvP, at least where Druids are concerned. The Restoration druids in particular are unhappy about this change, especially when taken in context with the recent change to the game that will allow everyone to see what magical buffs you have placed upon you. What this means is that just about every time a druid casts Innervate -- the spell that would benefit most from the change to Spirit -- there is a high probability it will be immediate dispelled. Now we have heard tell that Spirit as a stat will be changed somewhere down the line, that it will begin affecting spell damage as well as mana regen, so perhaps this is the first step toward that change. It's tough to know for certain. What we do know, however, is that the change makes the PvP gear more attractive for use in PvE, where Spirit does help with the longer battles. But I have to wonder, exactly why would the developers, who have professed that they want to create two separate gear sets for PvP and PvE, make the Season 3 Arena sets more PvE viable? It may be that they want more people to participate in Arena battles, or it could be for some unknown reason I'm not seeing. Help me out here. Do you think the change from MP5 to Spirit is a buff or a nerf?Update: Another patch just pushed through on the PTR, and this change to the Druid healing S3 set has been reverted. The gear will retain its MP5 stat bonus.

It's almost painful to even look at this atrocity for any extended period of time, let alone think of actually using it from day to day, but it's still hard to ignore for $59.92. The mysterious player simply touts a noticeable MP5 logo atop the 2.5-inch LCD, and while the format itself is news to us (or would that be "the company name?), it does manage to include an FM tuner, built-in camera, USB connectivity and a miniSD expansion slot. Personally, we wouldn't be the first in line to plunk down cash for a unnamed PMP with an interface that gaudy, but if you're interested in seeing a few more views anyway, click on through the break.

Aigo's latest PMP smells like more hype that substance, but regardless, this 2GB player certainly has the look. Internally, you'll find a 600MHz processor, a 2.8-inch panel, Class-D digital amplifier, and support for a wide array of formats including Real Audio, JPEG, BMP, GIF, MP3, "MP5," WMA, FLAC, and APE. Additionally, it's equipped with an SD / MMC expansion slot for loading up excess media, and while we don't exactly envision this one escaping China anytime soon, those in the neighborhood can grab one for CNY999 ($132).[Via PlayerBites]

  • Answers for Those Nagging Priest Questions

This charmingly titled FAQ provides a nice compilation of answers to questions that are posted in the forums ten times a day by priests.  From what enchant to put on your Benediction to whether spirit gear is better than mana per 5 gear, this guide isn't covering the basics - for basic information for a starting priest you might try this FAQ instead - but it does hit on all the hot topics.  If you're a priest looking for answers, this is a very  good starting place.  Hopefully it will also slow the constant inquires over the best enchant for the Benediction, but I'm probably just being optimistic...
