digg_url = 'http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/13/palms-mojo-sdk-for-webos-in-pictures/'; Okay, look, we like the Pre. We like it a lot, actually -- but failing our ability to get hold of one of those any time soon, we'll gladly take a boatload of screenshots in its place. These shots, taken from a late-2008 copy of the Mojo SDK, show some core goodies like messaging and Synergy contact management -- there's still a lot of stuff missing, yes, but this version has been floating around for a few months now, so the build demonstrated on Pres at CES was likely a good deal fresher. • Screen shots of Palm's Mojo SDK already in the wild?

We don't have a failsafe way to confirm that these are real, but what we're seeing certainly jibes with what Palm's been saying about webOS and its Mojo SDK: all web, all the time. Apps, which rely heavily on HTML and Javascript, are actually debugged right from the comfort of your desktop web browser, so it seems like there isn't even a native emulator to worry about. Boy Genius Report has a few screenshots posted, and while there isn't anything too terribly interesting going on, it's good to have some semi-confirmation that devs are already hard at work bringing stuff to the webOS table in time for the Pre launch. Oh, and Palm: feel free to hook us up, because we have this awesome idea for an Engadget app. Seriously.

  • Three Sheets not done yet: New Year's Eve Pub Crawl from London on MOJO's website

iN DEMAND Networks has heard you loud and clear, and it's giving Three Sheets fanatics at least one more look at Zane Lamprey's blitzed face this New Year's Eve. On the very day that MOJO HD vanished from programming providers everywhere, in flies a release informing us that what's likely the channel's most loved show will be back for another go... online. The second annual Three Sheets New Year's Even Pub Crawl will air this year from London, and it will begin streaming at the stroke of midnight ET on January 1, 2009. The 45-minute special will see Zane dropping by the bar at Duke's Hotel, Green and Red on the East End and Casa Blue (just to name a few). Oh, and if you're really dedicated to the show, you can hit up the Zane Years Eve party in LA, which will include a screening of this very show. We'll keep you posted on anything we hear regarding the show being picked up on another network (hint, hint, networks). Full release is after the break.

Well over 1.5 months after parent company iNDEMAND confirmed that MOJO HD was being canned, the day has finally come for it to expire. We know, you were crossing your fingers and summoning all sorts of good fortune in hopes of it magically staying active after the December 1st date with Dr. Death (sorry for the Dr. Danger reminder), but it just wasn't to be. Here's to you, MOJO HD, and all the outstanding (and lackluster) programming you've delivered over the years. Time for a "best MOJO moment" list in comments? We vote yes.[Thanks, Tom]Update: Another obituary is after the break -- feel free to send in your own and we'll post! Thanks, Eddie!

  • MGM HD replacing MOJO HD on Time Warner Cable in Raleigh, NC

    11.06.2008

No word yet on whether this is a national / regional change, but Time Warner Cable has informed Raleigh, NC-based subscribers that it won't just let users lose an HD channel when MOJO HD vanishes on November 20th. Instead, it's slotting in MGM HD on the HD Tier (channel 291), which we feel is a pretty fair trade. And for those wondering, yes, this one is in addition to the 20 high-def newcomers announced for the area late last month.

  • MOJO HD falls off TWC Rochester, 6 newcomers added in

And so it begins. The ill-fated MOJO HD has already begun to vanish from cable lineups, even though the official dissolution isn't set to occur until December. At any rate, Time Warner Cable has yanked the network in the Rochester, New York area, but smartly added in a half dozen high-def newcomers to keep customers from kvetching. With the fall of MOJO comes the addition of Hallmark HD, SPEED HD, Cartoon Network HD, FX HD, Tennis Channel HD and MGM HD. Hey, TWC -- when can we expect a similar announcement for your other markets? [Disclosure: Engadget is part of the Time Warner family][Thanks, Trent]

  • iN DEMAND speaks about MOJO HD programming

    10.08.2008

We pinged MOJO HD's parent company, iN DEMAND, in an attempt to hear that some of our favorite high-def programming wouldn't be vanishing forever with the dissolution of the channel. Thankfully, we heard back, and while the news isn't fantastic, it at least gives us room to hope. When we asked what would happen to the programming currently on MOJO HD, we told that "individual producers would be working to find other homes for the series," and that "announcements would come from those networks." Additionally, the MOJO MIX HD video-on-demand service will continue to operate into 2009, giving users another venue to fetch most of the original MOJO programming. In all seriousness, we can't imagine a Travel Channel HD (for example) not picking up Three Sheets, but we suppose only time will tell.

  • iN DEMAND confirms MOJO HD cancellation

    10.07.2008

The writing was all over the wall, but now it's in stone. Parent company iNDEMAND has confirmed in a statement that MOJO HD is fixing to cease as we know it. More specifically, it states that MOJO HD was "originally conceived as a way to satisfy consumers' thirst for pure true high-definition programming," and while the channel "accomplished this goal, there is a wealth of HD programming now available and thus we have chosen to discontinue the service." To be frank, we're not exactly sure what to make of this comment. Is it saying it'd rather bow out than engineer new, unique programming to boost ratings now that HD content is more accessible? Or is this just some canned response used to appease the masses? Whatever the case, we'll miss you MOJO, and here's hoping Zane Lamprey and Three Sheets finds another television home (and fast).Update: iNDEMAND pinged us with an official response (and to reaffirm the dissolution of MOJO HD), most of which you already read above. For the full thing, head on past the break.Update 2: We've heard back from iN DEMAND about the future of MOJO's programming. Check it out here.

  • Oregon Comcast users to lose MOJO, gain a few others in December

    10.07.2008

It looks as if the last sliver of hope for MOJO HD has vanished, as we're now facing yet another report pounded out in the all-telling black and white that spells out MOJO's demise. A recent bill sent to an Oregon Comcast subscriber explained that MOJO HD would be falling off of the EPG "on or after December 1st," although SPEED HD (723), Versus HD (732), Golf HD (733), FOX News HD (748) and FX HD (753) would be added. Interestingly, this also points out the separation of Versus / Golf HD as a single station, though we're unsure if this will end up being a sweeping change or simply a localized one.[Thanks, Brad]

  • MOJO HD gets canceled, should vanish by year's end

    10.02.2008

Man, what a bummer. It's fairly apparent that those rumors we heard late last month are now proving true, much to our own chagrin. In a recent electronic filing by the Department of Public Utility Control in Connecticut, we're told quite plainly that MOJO HD's regularly scheduled programming will cease on October 29th, 2008. Granted, this specifies that it will no longer be available to Cox customers alone, but the attached footnote is where things get really grim. It states that parent company iN DEMAND "has announced that it will be canceling its MOJO HD regularly scheduled programming by the end of the year, but it will continue to provide OnDEMAND programs." Is this really the end of Three Sheets and I Bet You as we know them? Pardon us while we shed a tear.[Thanks, Erik]

  • Is MOJO HD on the verge of shutting down?

File this one straight in the rumor folder (we're watching...) for now, but the intarwebz are ablaze with chatter that MOJO HD could be on the brink of collapse. After the all-HD channel -- which is home to Three Sheets, I Bet You, and a slew of other original programs -- was removed from select Cox and Comcast lineups, curious minds began to dig a little deeper. Turns out, parent company iN DEMAND is now rumored to be ceasing operation of the channel altogether, though we've no evidence to go on outside of a few unexplained disappearances. Anyone else see MOJO HD just fall off of their EPG? Let us know in comments below.[Thanks, Jonny]Read - MOJO falls off of CoxRead - MOJO vanishes from Comcast
