  • The Daily Grind: What character creation option do you wish MMOs would include?

I'm one of those players who takes forever and a day just to make it through the character creation process (forever and two days if it's a superhero title). It takes so long because I just agonize over every little aspect of how my character looks, even though I'll be spending the rest of my game time with them looking at his or her back. Because of this, it does frustrate me when games skimp out on character creation options. MMOs that have only three hairstyles, or identical faces, or nothing but an absurd standard of beauty have me gnashing my teeth. I don't need sliders all the time, but some interesting options to allow me some degree of personalization would be dandy. So what character creation option do you wish MMOs would include? Are there beards, hair styles, scars, or accessories that you never see but wish you did? Every morning, the Massively bloggers probe the minds of their readers with deep, thought-provoking questions about that most serious of topics: massively online gaming. We crave your opinions, so grab your caffeinated beverage of choice and chime in on today's Daily Grind!

Joining the extended family of robots assisting with the relief effort in Japan, the Texas-based Center for Robot-Assisted Search and Rescue (CRASAR) has sent its SARbot to Rikuzentakata. Like some of the other bots, this guy can shoot video as it swims under houses and other crippled structures, but it also sports a "limb grasping mechanism," designed to retrieve drowning victims and assist in other search and rescue operations. As of yet the machine's searches have come up empty, but the bot has kept the camera rolling during it's underwater adventures, so head past the break to check out a clip of its footage.

  • Electrifying Full Metal Alchemist screens

Note the full-bodied burst of energy, an electric explosion up front that evens into a smooth, velvety battle with a few hints of fruit (mostly in the hair). That up-front energy has a whiplash effect, an off-the-chart acidity that would burn if not for the dampening apricot that soothes the throat. Yes, friends, these Full Metal Alchemst screens are like watching water become wine, except nothing like that at all, really. There isn't any apricot, either. We're sorry for misleading you. What Full Metal Alchemist: Dual Sympathy does have, however, is an epic quest to find the Philosopher's Stone, and along the way our heroes, Alponse and Edward, may rain a little righteous judgment down on those evil Homunculi. And that's got a finish to please any palate. Check after the jump for a few more screens from the upcoming game.
