Nintendo's seemingly forgotten about the futuristic, hyper-fast racing series F-Zero when it comes to a Wii U release, but developer Shinen hasn't. We first caught a glimpse of Fast Racing Neo at PAX this year and came away incredibly excited, so of course we're streaming it today. But that's not all: We're also going to spend some time with the troubled The Devil's Third from Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive mastermind Tomonobu Itagaki. Join myself and Sean Buckley as we broadcast two hours of Wii U games starting at 6 PM Eastern / 3 PM Pacific.

German developer Shin'en Multimedia recently told Cubed3 that the team responsible for its two DS shoot-em-ups, Nanostray 1 and 2, has been working on an action game for 3DS since last October. No more specifics were given out about the identity of the title, though one logical conclusion leaps to mind: Burgertime. What else could it possibly be? Fine, we've got our fingers crossed that the mystery project is Nanostray 3, or, following the trend of game titles on the handheld, Nanostray 3D. Maybe even Nanostray 3D The Third, if they wanted to add a little regal flair. We've contacted the developer for more info on its 3DS debut.

  • Futuristic 'FAST Racing League' due on WiiWare from Jett Rocket dev

Shin'en, developer of the DS shmup Nanostray and its sequel -- and, most recently, WiiWare platformer Jett Rocket -- has begun to tease its next project for Wii's digital platform: FAST Racing League. Only a single piece of promotional art (pictured) has been revealed so far, but this image is worth at least a couple dozen words. Like, for example, the game looks to be a futuristic racer and the ship design bears an uncanny similarity to those of a certain Sony racing franchise. It's too soon to hope for an F-Zero style racer on Wii (where is the Wii game in that series, anyway?) but at least those of us who like our racing fast and future-focused have something to put on our radar.

  • Jett Rocket ending announces Jett Rocket 2

Jett Rocket was released on WiiWare yesterday, so we're sure you've all seen the ending by now. Even if not, we don't think this constitutes a spoiler: the ending provides a pretty strong hint that developer Shin'en is planning a sequel. How strong? "To be continued in Jett Rocket 2." Shin'en is probably hard at work adding extreme new vehicles and new areas of the planet Yoroppa right now. The developer can't know yet if the game sold well enough to justify a sequel (because it's been out for a day). Pong Toss achieved sufficient sales for a sequel, so it's entirely possible. Actually, if there are two games about throwing ping-pong balls into plastic cups, we're going to go ahead and say that anything is possible.

Developer Shin'en released a trailer for its WiiWare platformer Jett Rocket. Let's just get this out of the way: Wow, this looks nice for a WiiWare game. We're kind of amazed by how nice the environments and the lighting effects look! It seems like there are plenty of interesting elements (or gimmicks) in the levels, as well. Oh, not to mention that the protagonist has a jetpack. Shin'en has yet to date the platformer. We're certain we don't have to say this, but we would warn the developer to avoid releasing a 3D platformer in May. [Via Siliconera]

  • Shin'en lighting up WiiWare with Jett Rocket

Shin'en, developer of the DS Nanostray games, as well as the recent WiiWare release Art of Balance, has announced a new 3D platformer for WiiWare. Jett Rocket looks like your basic 3D platformer, but slightly smaller in scale, with three areas of the planet Yoroppa to explore. It looks impressive, with graphics that recall Super Mario Galaxy. With a name like Jett Rocket, you'd expect some kind of powered vehicles, and the game features three: a paraglider, a "Jet Boat," and a "Jet Snowboard." Wouldn't that melt all the snow?

  • VC Friday: Fun! Fun! Strong Bad!

With our shelves and Wii fridges creaking under the weight of new games from the holidays, Nintendo has generously given PAL gamers a week to catch their breath -- at least, we think that's the idea. Both WiiWare titles this week probably only appeal to a handful of people. The fifth and final episode of Strong Bad Episode 5 is great, obviously, but only if you're in the teensy minority who grabbed the first four instalments. Meanwhile, Fun! Fun! Minigolf is allegedly so fun that maker Shin'en felt the need to tell us of its fun-ness twice over. But is a zany-looking chibi minigolf game really the title to stop us from getting our fingers gooey? Hint: no.
