According to online game rental service GameFly, Monster Finder (note: totally not Monster Hunter), the first DSi-only game announced in Japan, will be headed to the US thanks to Konami. Siliconera notes that the game is listed for a January 2010 release. As we've previously reported, the game -- which sounds similar in concept to the PSP's Invizimals -- utilizes one of the DSi's two cameras to create an augmented reality adventure where players must "find" monsters in the real world. We find ourselves wondering if its creator, Alpha Unit, just wasn't feeling all that creative when naming the game ... or if it really wanted that tenuous Monster Hunter connection after all.

Just yesterday we heard that DSi-only retail games would be on the way soon. Today, Japanese publisher Alpha Unit announced the first one, Monster Finder -- though, since it was announced for Japan, we doubt it's one of the games being referred to yesterday!Basically the only details available about Monster Finder right now are that it includes over 100 different varieties of monster and that those monsters are found with the DSi camera (hence the DSi exclusivity); and probably represented in-game by the scanner-gun thing seen in the teaser artwork. It's part Monster Rancher, part augmented reality. Monster Finder will be released sometime this winter in Japan.[Via Andriasang]

Click for more screens You all know how we love puzzle games. This new WiiWare title that just released in Japan, Bomb Tapper, looks like gaming bliss. Josh over at WiiFolder was kind enough to put together some footage of the title, which we've gone ahead and embedded past the break due to player limitations. We're not sure of the odds this could ever make its way to North America, but we're willing to do unsavory acts in the hope that it would sometime in the future.Bomb Tapper is developed by Alpha Unit and available on the Japanese Virtual Console for 500 Wii Points.%Gallery-35107%

Click for more screens Seriously, doesn't it look a lot like Boom Blox? From what we've gathered on the game, it plays just like Boom Blox. Titled Bomb Tapper, the puzzle game is being developed by Alpha Unit and will go for 500 Wii Points, releasing to Japan on November 11th. What's the premise? Well, you detonate certain blocks that destroy those around it, with the goal being to clear the entire screen of blocks.
